my favorite of spanish beers. chuggable, sippable, swiggable, it is versatile. almost always had it on tap but it is good in a bottle or can too.

Barcelona - Pours gold with white head, sweet, wheat, mild hopped nose. Clean, cold, smooth in taste. Not that bad at all.

Brought back for me from Barcelona, and surely I’d have enjoyed it more swilling it while wandering around that charming Basque town. Oh well. Some other time. As for the brew, it was a typical, crisp, overly fizzy lager of the bland international style. Oddly, it’s surprisingly hard to get Spanish beer in the US. Perhaps because their wine industry is much more successful.

Sounds daft, but this really smells like lager, not particularly appetizing, slightly fizzy and overall quite average! I suppose it would be alot nicer if you were sat on a beach in Spain.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Pale golden, decent head. Very hoppy nose, but not much bitterness and absolutely no hops make it through to the finish. Quite pleasant and fresh. Brewed with both corn and rice and quite potent for a lager. 240504

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2008 (Bottled, 4.6% ABV) Clear golden with a small, partly lasting head. Sweet and corny-malty aroma with honeyish alcohol hints. Moderately acidic, lemony-malty flavor with low bitterness, but a long, acidic-vegetably aftertaste. Light-bodied (not watery), quite foamy and carbonated palate. Corny and acidic Spanish lager - not very impressive with the lowered (5.4 -> 4.6) ABV. (Bottled, was 3-2-4-3-9=2.1) Paleish golden color with small head. Sweet and alcoholic, corny, honeyish and slightly stuffy aroma. Softly metallic, quite malty flavor with low bitterness and quickly fading finish. Light to medium-bodied, quite foamy-carbonated palate. A maltier-than-average, slightly sweet-honeyish lager. Nothing special, but easily drinkable, and not watery.

Light lager nose, pale gold color, fluffy sticky head. Light grainy malt taste with a more sweet honey-like character. Low bitter - can’t really pick out the hops. Thin and weak.

Pale in every respect. No apparent aroma, very little malt or hops. Doesn’t linger, doesn’t make you want another one. Boring

Not much of a hop presence, but a mild palate with some caramel flavour and full mouthfeel. Couldn’t find anything to bag about it, just an understated lager, goes well with some "garlicky" chorizo.

Golden color with small mostly vanishing head, some lace. Aroma is full malty without any additional fault odours. Medium-bodied. Starts malty, then turns to sweet. Aftertaste is slightly tart and malty. Not much hop character but otherwise quite drinkable basic lager. Maize and rice are not dominating here.
