This beer is the jewel in the crown of Damm’s century-long beer-brewing experience. Since 1876, when Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm founded the company bearing his name, numerous generations of master brewers have perfected this lager until it has become a landmark in the world of beers.

This lager beer with a universally appreciated character and taste is ideal for drinking at any time.

Its high quality is due to the finest selection of raw materials and the meticulous brewing process. It stands out for its creamy hops-flavoured froth and refreshing taste.

This beer is not particularly complex or good. It is overpriced here. Probably its appeal in Barcelona is its price. It does not even have that going for it here. You might as well go back home, beer. To quote Star Wars: "We don’t serve your kind here."

Bottle, bought ifrom Sainsbury’s. The beer has no real aroma. The flavour is a bit thin with a touch of citrus. Not good, but could be worse.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2011 Good Barcelona style beer, very drinkable and refreshing. A lot of taste and refreshing. A must to drink. But do not get any big ideas, it’s just a common lager. Crisp golden colour with average white head. Malts and grass on the nose. Some sweetnes coming probable from the corn used to brew it, light to medium bitterness on the taste. Light body, thin feel, average carbonation and a short after taste.

Bottle. Light yellow body with a fluffy white head. The aroma is dirty old socks and over ripe tomatoes. There is also a strange note of pancakes. The taste is slightly bitter with some notes of celery. There is also some raw potato. A decent pale lager.

33 cl. bottle. Basic lager appearance-gold, bubbly, with a disappearing thin foamy white head. Not much in the way of aroma, just some straw and mild hop grassiness. Overly sweet flavor, with notes of cardboard, overcooked vegetables and corn. Aftertaste of dishsoap. I was not loving this one.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2009 Bottle in Andorra. Just another sub-standard pale lager. More fizz than flavour.

Light, fizzy Barcelona lager. A little hoppy bitterness. Pleasant and probably good with food, but mostly forgettable on its own. Like that pub you used to go to once in a while - what was its name again?

Bottle from Capone’s. Pale gold pour with 1-finger, fizzy white head. Aroma of hopcitrus, slight honey, apricot, and thiols. Weak palate with flavor notes of hopcitrus, and grainy pale malt.

Pale lager. Clean, dry aroma. Flavour is smooth and fresh but lacks a little of the flavour offered by the "Classic" version of this beer. It’s a little dry and bitter but overall easy to drink and leaves a slightly fruity/sweet aftertaste.
