This beer is the jewel in the crown of Damm’s century-long beer-brewing experience. Since 1876, when Alsatian August Kuentzmann Damm founded the company bearing his name, numerous generations of master brewers have perfected this lager until it has become a landmark in the world of beers. This lager beer with a universally appreciated character and taste is ideal for drinking at any time. Its high quality is due to the finest selection of raw materials and the meticulous brewing process. It stands out for its creamy hops-flavoured froth and refreshing taste.

Cannette 500 ml. 4.6%. Couleur jaune paille, mousse blanche. Arôme de céréales et herbes. En bouche, cold and crisp. Céréale, malt, un peu de houblon. Une excellente lager.

A very good lager, extremely refreshing. A thick head which disappears quickly. Typical lager taste-- so hops and malts aren’t very detectable, although there is some sweet citrus/wheat.

Clear straw colored beer with a a lasting white foam head. The carbonation is surprisingly sedate. A wheat and slight cheese smell with a a little pepper aroma as well. The taste of this beer strikes a well balanced taste of surprisingly significant malt that is eclipsed by a peppery hops. The palate is spot on lively yet thick enough to know there is more to this lager than water. No one part stands above the rest but the sum of this beer makes a good choice in imported lagers. I am glad that it is finding a market in the states.

Overall a decent beer. Above average, but nothing stellar. Some cereal and malt notes. Perhaps a tad too carbonated. But not in an amateur "we just learned to brew" sort of way. Overall, I think this beer should be drank at 65 degrees F. I think some of the low scores are from people trying to drink everything ice cold (because that’s how you have to drink BMC to avoid puking)

Single bottle purchased from Keg & Cork Wine & Spirits in Edmonton, AB on 07/22/2011. Colour: Medium yellow with minimal head. Nose: Some fighting yeast, sugar cane and pizza dough. Taste: Light sweet, medum-light bitter, light sour. A cardboard dominance that turns to sawdust. Mild traces of rising bread. For the most part - horrible.

Should have been titled Estrella Hamm’s. I couldn’t finish it. I can’t comment to the appearance as it came in a bottle. It reminded me of your standard bottled lager that you would buy at the 7-11.

Bottle. Pours translucent blond with a tall, foamy white head. Skunky, grassy hops atop cereal grains, sweet malt and corny notes. Taste echoes these while having a diminished skunky hop profile, a bigger corn flavor, more cereal and faint lemon tea. Body is light and fizzy. Ends with more cereal grains, sweet malt, corn syrup and grassy hops.

Golden color with small mostly vanishing head, some lace. Aroma is full malty without any additional fault odours. Medium-bodied. Starts malty, then turns to sweet. Aftertaste is slightly tart and malty. Not much hop character but otherwise quite drinkable basic lager. Corn and rice are not dominating here.
