COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
ESTRELLA DEL SUR HAS BEEN REFRESHING SEVILLE SINCE 1959 Estrella del Sur is a smooth beer with a refined, gentle taste in the most authentic southern style. The prestigious designers from Seville, Victorio & Lucchino, have created the presentational image for Estrella del Sur that, in keeping with its roots, is replete with Andalusian touches conveying the true soul and passion of Southern Spain.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2009 330 ml can, bought in Tenerife. Apparently Estrella del Sur originally was brewed (since 1959) in Sevilla, in one of the breweries bought and closed by the Damm group. Damm have kept the brand. Not to be confused with the 0.9% stronger Estrella Damm. Extremely pale crystal clear straw colour. Large and lasting foamy head. Pleasant fruity sweet aroma. Bland and uninteresting flavour, some faint unpleasant "boiled" sidenotes. Forgettable.

330 ml can. Clear, pale golden body with a small white head. Not much aroma, grain and hay. Flavor is pretty neutral industrial lager, a bit sweet grainy with hint of fruit. Not much bitterness, thin body, almost no aftertaste.

Tap, Sevilla, Spain. At a Irish style pub right near the “Tower of Gold” Clear yellow color, short white head. Aroma of hops, some grain. Some bitterness but over all watery. To me, this is the Miller Lite of Spain.

Bought on Tenerife. It’s light golden with an OK, white head. The aroma is neutral with slightly perfumed floral notes. The flavour is mild, slightly perfumed and floral and the bitterness is very low. It’s thin, but it’s easy to drink and totally harmless... 1806

Can. Clear, pale golden with a small white head. Grain, hay and some fruityness in the aroma. Some fruityness in the flavor, as well as grain and hay. Thin body and a quite fruity finish. Somewhat decent and drinkable, but not the beer you bring back from abroad. (070210)

Can. Head was spare to small with a white slightly frothy sparkle. Spare lacing. Clear slightly sparkling body. Color was pale yellow. Aroma was light hay, straw, grass and cardboard with some notes of sweetness. Light bodied with a thin texture and an average carbonation. Light sweet flavor with light notes of bitterness. Short finish.

Can (BB 01/2007)
Pale golden color, small but steady white head. Light papery aroma. Light palate, decent maltyness and hints of grassy-woody hops in the finish. Propably not hopeless pale lager when really fresh.
