iwantalambic (1385), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Apr 7, 2005 375 mL bottle, corked & caged (2002 on the label, sampled April 2005): large white bubbly head dies quickly, but is replaced just as quickly by the intense stream of bubbles that rises through the crystal clear yellow body. Musty, sour apple aroma with notes of grass, heather, and limestone. Moist, almost soggy red apple & pineapple flavour with fizzy alcohol undertones and sweet sherry accents. Tart finish leaves the palate curious and satisfied. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA Mar 31, 2005 2002 bottle. short foamy white head. yellowish clear color. a little fizz going up some of the body. apple and sweat aroma. slightly sweet too. very high carbonation, sweet apple flavor, foamy in the mouth. a little spicy finish. thanks Beerslayer! joeec5 (204), bayonne, New Jersey, USA Mar 30, 2005 thanks beerslayer. This was apples, tart, more sweet..and a smokey flavor that kept reminding me of a camp fire that was put out with sweet piss...in a good way.. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA Mar 30, 2005 A nice surprise wasn’t sure if I was going to like this Cider, but it was pretty good. Apple, sweet, and I think some smoke flavors. Finishes clean and crisp. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 19, 2005 2003 bottle. Very fizzy stuff, pours with a big bubbly white head that quick dissapears. Hazy orange body. Fantastic aroma - concentrated green apple sweetness tempered by a dry corn silage acidic bite. The flavor has a good underlying apple flesh sweetness and apple skin tartness but also has a distracting tin foil bite. It’s not overpowering it just keeps you from really settling in with the drink. Good mouthfeel. ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 13, 2005 2002 bottle. This cider is off the charts, but I can’t tell which direction. Aroma is a barnyard containing a small apple orchard, many horses, some male cats, and a substantial wildflower stand at the shoulder of the gravel road. The flavor adds haybarn, tackroom, and root cellar earthiness. My mind is blown. This is Rurual Memory in a Bottle. I really can’t drink more than a few sips, as this is so sensually, mnemonically, and possibly microbially pungent. Damn. Sancho (245), Da Bronx, New York, USA Mar 13, 2005 2000 bottle, very pale champange like color, very fizzy, very dry flavor, not sweet you can taste some appleness in the end, to me this is and apple champnge, wictch is weird fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Feb 11, 2005 Vintage 2003 Misty golden color. A very nice aroma of mature apples, with a touch of vanilla, smokeyness and young oak. Tha flavor is sweet enough in the front, well structured, with an interesting light smokeyness, getting a bit more astringent at the end. This is good stuff!
