Cloudy living appearance. Aromas of cider mills and an earthy smoke. Subtle latex. Flavour of fresh off the mill cider, slight lemon puckering. Very refreshing.

Pours a light golden with some very bubbly, effervescent white head. Nose is really funky and musty. Flavor is much the same, with some apple tartness, some yeasty notes. Why can’t all cider be this complex and intersting?

2003 Vintage. I haven’t tasted quality cider in awhile, and one should expect good things from the makers of Calvados. I was not disappointed. I think the last quality apple product I enjoyed was New Glarus Apple Ale, and this reminded me of its more refined sibling. Some nice tartness and sweetness together. The acidity somewhat takes me aback. I prefered this much more as it warmed to about room temperature, I’m not sure why RB would recommend serving this one at 46.5, which was far too cold to enjoy the nuances of the flavors. Although not a huge cider drinker, this one was one of the better ones I’ve tasted. If I were rating according to style, this would be close to a 5.0

Hazy yellow with white head, which disappears quickly. Clear apple aroma, with freshness and a slight bitter! Beautifull.....

2005 vintage. Pours fairly dark orange for a cider. Aroma is mostly apple (go figure) with maybe a bit of vanilla or cinnamon. Body is tending towards full for a cider with mostly sweet apple flavors. Some good acid gives good balance, decent carbonation makes it drinkable. Very tasty.

sweet, dry, champagne-like carbonation with a bit of rubber/earthy funk in the nose and taste.

750 ml bottle @ Pikkulintu. Warm, rests directly from the bottle. Tasted and smelled like a mixture of dishwasher detergent and apple. Blaah.

I took the metal guard off the top, and the cork popped out on its own - now that’s impresive carbonation. Pours a slightly hazy gold with no head - not particularly attractive to be honest. Aroma is nice - sour apples, celery, white wine. Taste is apples, white wine, maybe a touch of citrus too. Dry finish of sour apples. Palate is extremely bubbly - it expands inside the mouth, more than I’d like in fact. It also leaves me belching every five minuets. I’d like this better with less carbonation. Still, this is very good. Drinkable and enjoyable.

From bottle Vintage 2005 : Pours a hazy amber color with a small white fizzy head that dies out after a minute or two. Nose is sweet, with sour apples. First impression is that the body is thick, quite thick. Has a sweet taste, some sour apples toward the end, and ends very dry....very dry indeed. Some apple lingers in the aftertaste, and the dry tartness. Not to bad, it is my first real cider, so i dont have much to compare it with though.

Draft at redlight redlight. Pours a light clear gold. Loads of fresh tart apples on the nose. Maybe just a hint of cinnamon or other spices. The flavor is as close to a granny smith apple as I can imagine cider getting: sweet, tart, and delicious. Drier than some ciders but still refreshing enough to wet a thirsty throat. This is definitely one of the best ciders on the market.
