As a true ice cidre "Cidre de Givre" expresses with intensity the flavors of the apples from Domaine Etienne Dupont. It is derived from E. Dupont Cidre Bouche Brut 2005 by freezing it and then removing the frozen water.

Amber golden color with no head. Rich apple and sweet caramel aroma. Full body. Sweet and still mellow. Powerful tasty stuff. Lovely apple flavor with some toffee. Great dessert!

Bottle from the cidery visited while doing the Normandy cidre trail. Pours a rich amber colour. The taste is intense stewed apples. Sweet, but tart. A slightly earthy finish. The alcohol really isn’t that evident. Lovely syrupy mouth feel. Delicious but a touch cloying after a while. A sipper

Huge butterscotch caramel smell. Insane butterscotch, caramel, and toffee flavors with cooked apples. One of the most delicious beverages I’ve ever had.

Bottle courtesy of aniela. 2006 vintage. Pours murky reddish brown with no head. Smell is fruity and tiny spicy with concentrated apple must, cinnamon, overripe apples, raisins, moist soil and hints of lemon peal. Taste is sweet with overripe apples, raisins, figs, sweet sherry, cinnamon, moist wood and alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, sticky sweet, tiny boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and fruity with overripe apples, hay, figs, apple brandy, moist wood and hints of lemon peal. Nicely oxidised but the base Ice Cider isn’t very impressive.

Bottle from a store in San Diego. Cloudy copper/golden color, no head. Overripe apple aroma, woody, caramel, innamon notes, apple peels, slightly sourish. Sweet apple flavor, caramel, grapes, earthy, applepie, warming alcohol, yeast notes. Nice and interesting.

2006 vintage, fancy green glass bottle with yellow wax pours with a murky messy looking amber body that has thin copper hues. The aroma entices with billowing caramel candy notes as well as butterscotch candy and toffee. Wow! Cool. The taste is virtually the same as smooth caramel candy and toffee notes rule the experience and thin snippets of apple are noticed out at the flavor periphery.

Cloudy brown pour. Looks and smells of natural apple juice with a good dose of caramel. Very sweet, very tasty.

Bottle @ 10K + OT. Thanks again to Steve for this bottle. Slightly cloudy amber pour. Lots of butterscotch on the nose. Caramel, baked apple, and some slight cardboard/oxidation. Taste is typically sweet, but heavy on the butterscotch candies. Caramel sauce, baked apple, slight buttery pie crust, and light cardboard. A bit of sherry, too.

>> Vintage 2006. Clear, chill hazed red amber pour. No legs. Nose is salty, sweaty, buttery strawberry biscuit and jam. Taste is salty, Worcestershire, tannic, watery, overly salty, savory. Odd. Not so great.
