As a true ice cidre "Cidre de Givre" expresses with intensity the flavors of the apples from Domaine Etienne Dupont. It is derived from E. Dupont Cidre Bouche Brut 2005 by freezing it and then removing the frozen water.

Bottle from state line liquors - vintage 2006 - pours a hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma reminds be of the baked apples at Cracker Barrel, so baked apple, brown sugar, calvados. Taste is sweet. The palate is syrupy, but not overly so. Overall, yum!

2007 vintage from pepsiedcan...thanks Andy! - Pours cloudy caramel with no head. Nose is sweet, juicy apple cider, real crisp and tart. Notes of caramel, apple skins, oak, and a tinge of booze. The taste...whoa. Never tasted any beverage quite like this before. Being my first ice cider, not sure if this is what they all taste like. It coats your mouth with a watered-down caramel apple sweetness. light baking spice and overripe apples fill the mouth. Wow. Just intense apple cider flavor, real concentrated. I can’t tell if I love or hate the mouthfeel. It’s real viscous, which accentuates the mouth-coating feeling. This is a dessert wine in the truest sense, and I can’t help but feel like this should be served in a tiny glass after a great meal or poured over ice cream. I’m not doing this beverage justice drinking half the bottle in a tulip glass on a Monday night.

2006 Bottle, compliments of Matt, shared with some heads. Pours a clearish copper color with zero head and lacing. Aromas of apple skins, toffee, apple pie. Taste is sweet apple pie crust, with honey, cinnamon, and raisins also present. Mouthfeel was soft and chewy. Medium to fuller bodied cider. This one blew us away.
