riversideAK (1427), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Barn in Redding, CA too. Pours a straw golden with a nice soapy head. Aroma is rather light with hints of blackberry essence and sweet wheat malt. Wheat up front followed by light soft blackberry and then more wheat. Maybe some light yeasty esters. A little off flavor too. Light and smooth with soft carbonation. Actually not bad really, but I like fruit beers more than the next man. timfoolery (270), Alabama, USA May 13, 2008 Updated: Jun 18, 2008Bottle from Liquor Barn in Redding, CA. It’s a local brew that looked enticing at the time. Turns out, this one is a nice, drinkable beer with hints of banana and blackberry. I can see the McD’s sweet and sour comment... DTM (307), Winters, California, USA May 8, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Barn in Redding, CA. Not sure what the aroma was but it reminded me of the sweet and sour sauce at McDonalds. Luckily the flavor was a little better. It was sweet and malty with just a hint of blackberry. Easy to drink light-bodied beer. aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Nov 24, 2007 Soapy nose with a bit of burnt plastic. More burnt phenols and soap on the palate. Dry lingering soap finish. beerguy101 (3408), Newark, California, USA Jun 28, 2006 This fruit wheat pours a light gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is wheat and blackberries, slightly sweet. A light to medium bodied fruit wheat beer. Malts are fruity and sweet, grassy and grainy. The blackberry flavors are prevalent, but not overly sweet. There is a smoky flavor to the aftertaste. Hops are slightly bitter and floral. Its weird to have a fruit beer with a smoky finish. The smokiness in only in the finish. Strange beer, the smokiness sort of removes the light and refreshing aspect to this beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is smoky.
