An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet wheaty, while the flavor besides the sweet wheat also has notes of oranges and hints of banana.

Bottle in Paramount Club, London. Colour is toasty looking orange with big white head. Nose is yeast, banana, grain, honey, bread. taste is fruity with banana, lemon, yeast and some grainy wheat. It’s lightish but lots of flavour and a fairly crisp dry finish. Very nice.

(BB11/11) Dark orange colored, little vanishing head. Ripe banana with thin sourness, not too fresh anymore I guess, yeast also here. Medium bodied. Flavor has similar sour note with sweet banana, aftertaste has dry yeasty note, berries here too. Not fresh anymore.

Bottle from the brewery shop. Poured a faintly hazy dark gold with a big white head that vanished within seconds, and pleasant weizen aroma of banana, honey and a touch of bread dough. Typical weizen flavours - a touch of soft fruit on the tip of the tongue, then more banana and bread, and some honey and clove coming through. A touch of pear and spice in the finish. A good typical weizen, nothing special.

Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Test vom 26.8.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,7,12,7,-,7 - 8,10

Bottled 500ml. -Something was wrong with this beer. Probably infected but BBE is valid yet for almost half year (11.3.2011). While I poured it seemed ok, but it was very dense in the glass and looked like someone put fresh egg in it (or at least yolk). Orange coloured, small off-white head, quite repulsive nose. Sweetish wheaty, light banana and hint of spices with almost no acidity. I’ll try to find this weizen again.

esox (742) - Oulu, FINLAND - JAN 9, 2010
Draught. Slightly reddish orange and hazy beer. Rich head is dense and very creamy. The aroma has sweetish wheat malts, soma banana and spicy yeast. Enjoyable fruitiness and some hops in the finish. Medium sweet taste finishes dryish yeasty and slightly bitter. Medium bodied palate is very smooth and refreshngly carbonated. A very good weizen.

Bottle from Bier-Spezialitäten-Laden, Berlin. Amber with almost no head. Some banana aroma, hints of cardboard. Banana and clove flavours. Boring weizen.

Dorqui (1552) - Brescia, ITALY - NOV 3, 2009
Bottled 0,50L. Abundant, strong, resistant head. Elegant orange dark color, much lively and bubbly. Fresh aroma with clear mildew notes, banana, lemon, honey. Complex and explosive taste, much dense and fresh one. Pleasant and indeed rich.

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - AUG 14, 2009
(bottle) Cloudy, bright orange to amber colour with a big and rocky foamy white head. Sweet and moderately wheaty nose with strong clovy spices and very shy fruity notes in the background. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Wheat-malty chewy taste with distinctive notes of ripe banana; the clove character is surprisingly mild; sweet malty and fruity finish with a whiff of sourness. A good Weizen at second sight (14.VIII.09).
