truegen (132), Puyallup, Washington, USA Feb 2, 2008 Bottle from 99 Bottles in Federal Way. Beautiful pour with a fluffy head that laces well. Deep reddish-brown color. Aroma is bready, with raisin and clove notes. This is a fairly dry for a dunkel, and as others have noted, there’s a strange bite on the back end of this, almost vegetal in character. Still, it’s very drinkable. Let it warm a bit, and it’s good points get better.
bhensonb (2735), Woodland, California, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. Ruddy copper color with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel and fruits and oddities. Medium body with mild carbonation. There’s caramel, there’s fruit, there’s not a great deal of bitter. Yet the finish seems dry, and there seems to be bitter. Rather light overall, but it is a really good lager. Try it and see what you think. darkseduction (108), Zweibrücken, Germany Jun 26, 2008 Bottle 50cl. Pours a mahagony-coloured brew with nice head and appetizing performance. Overwhelming impression of complexness, dried fruits, tobacco, toffee, tart in the finish. A masterpiece! BlackDonald (724), On a beer trip all over the USA, California, USA May 6, 2008 This was a pretty malty beer, with some rich caramel and toffee notes initially and upon first it’s great, but as you continue drinking, it becomes kind of thin, but remains pretty drinkable, just not a lot to it. KnN (219), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Apr 9, 2008 Couldn’t place the flavor, but someone below mentioned "biscuit" and now all I can taste is those biscuits you get in a cardboard tube. Pretty thin. Bit of a flavor going on and the mouthfeel has something there, but not great. A little caramel? I don’t know. Not terrible, not great. drewbeerme (1716), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 3, 2008 500ml bottle. pours clear auburn with pretty much no head. a nice caramelly aroma. flavor is toasted biscuit and touch of toffee. fizzy thin mouth feel. a pretty nice dunkel.
