COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unusually, it is know that a beer is made by brewing Pilsner in a monastery. No "common-Pils", but a hochvergorenes, light and sweet beer, which is striking for its fine hop flavor

Pale and clear, fruity aroma.Hoppy. Not special, but an allright pilsener from the monastery which has some other quite impressive beers to offer.

Bottle from the Ettaler Monastery in Oberammergau, Germany. White head, fair lacing, transparent, carbonated and a pale yellow hue. Weak malt aroma. Malt and lightly bitter flavor. Light bodied pilsener and very boring IMO.

This The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 85. This bottled brew from the Ettaler Monastery in Oberammergau Germany poured a large head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting white colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was transparent and yellow in color. Its aroma contained notes of malt and was very mild. Its mouth feel is smooth with a slightly tingly palate and a malty aftertaste. Its flavor contained malty hoppy notes that favored the malts. A very average brew.

Thank you hotstuff and thedm for bringing this to our little ratingsession. Straw yellow color, small layer of a head. Not much in the nose. Kind of grassy taste. Not a good pils.

Aldrighetti (162) - Coltura, ITALY - JUN 16, 2004
Bottle. Pale yellow, very clear. White head, irregular size bubbles, good lacing, medium glass sticking. Fresh hoppy aroma, hay, sawdust, malt flour, dough. Low aroma persistence. Initial honey taste, quickly followed by a clean herbal aroma, medium aromatic. Bitterness increase with a persistent herbal aftertaste. Dry palate, light astringent, medium to light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Not very exciting, but well made.
