It’s red mahogany with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of dark syrup, roasted malt and fruit. The flavor is moderately sweet with notes of dark syrup, licorice, roasted malt and a bit of fruits, the finish is slightly dry. I would NEVER have thought this was a märzen, very atypical, but nice....

Bottle. A brown, clear beer with a finger-thick light beige head. Rather weak aroma with some nutty, caramel-ish maltyness and a hint of prunes. The flavor has the same problem, it’s a bit weak, but it’s nice, with nuts, caramel and some dried fruits.Soft carbonation, medium body. A quite pleasant one, but I’d wish for more punch all the way. 120623

Bottle, thanks pivnizub. Surprisingly dark for a Märzen - opaque red chestnut, cappucino head. Doppelbockish sweet malt nose which carries over in to the malt flavorbase, tilts over into a sugary, somewhat thin body. A few aromatic hops, could be more pronounced, but do give a fresh citric note towards the finish. Interresting brew which just lacks the last edge.

Bottle: Clear, deep chestnut-amber coloured, visible carbonation, rather quickly diminishing loose off-white head, fruity (raisins) and a bit roast-malty nose, almost with a chocolatey touch; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour; discreet fruitiness in the bitter-sweet finish. Spicy and dark........
