Sample at tasting. Hazy golden orange pour with a short-lived creamy white head. Hoppy aroma has notes of orange, passionfruit, apricot, toffee and honey. Flavour is very similar but with a stronger malt profile providing notes of caramel and nuts, as well as hints of tropical fruit. Light mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a long bitter finish. A good, well rounded IPA, very easy to drink.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Chevy Chase Wine, 3/3/10

Aroma: Nose of grapefruit and peach hops, caramel malts, orange, and grass
Appearance: Pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with a frothy white head and lots of lace
Flavor: Taste is sweet citrus fruits up-front, and lots of dryness in the middle palate and finish
Palate: It has a long duration, medium body, and a clean and oily mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid IPA. It has a good citrus nose and flavor, and transitions into a nice bitter IPA flavor. I like this beer, a rather enjoyable one, and a nice representation of the style.

Nice citrus hop aroma. Appearance is as you would expect for an IPA. Citrus, grapefruit, hop taste. Moderately bitter. Sweet caramel, toffee malt rounds it out. Delicious and very drinkable. Great beer

Sample at Rogue Ales Public House. Pours a clear orange color with a thin foamy bone white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Citrusy hops and caramel malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of hops, grapefruit and pine. Pale malt touches as well. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Pretty good overall.

Poured lovely cloudy golden, with big fluffy off white head. Aroma is great, piney, citrussy, sweet, little bit of malt, yum. Initial taste impression is malt sweetness, orangey, grapefruity, tasty. Found palate a little to full bodied for me. Having said that, it would be great in winter. Lovely drop, but at $16.50 AUD a bottle, well, that’s pushing it.

15/01/2009. Tap @ Hashigo Zake. Slightly hazy pale gold. Lovely balance of orangey hop and sweet pale malts. Big moreish hop flavour with a bitterness that grows but doesn’t come close to overpowering. Plenty of malt on the palate to carry the hops. Reminds me of Ninkasi Tricerahops but this one is very much an infant... if a dinosaur at all. I liked this beer a lot so I had a couple more, just to be sure.

Aromas I get bubblegum, peaches, sugar and apricot and (unusually) the new-furniature smell. But I like it. The aromas remind me a lot of cutting into fresh fruit, like a rock melon. SO awesome. Flavours - mild bitterness mixes with a perfect sweet, caramel malt. Turns into juicy fruit with banana, pineapple, passionfruit. Relatively full bodied. I like this a lot.

Bottle. Very nice thick head and the retention was unbelievable. Beautiful golden orange color. A very solid mix of malt and hops on such a highly hopped beer. Light mouth feel with citrus/orange and grass. The hops linger very long, but in a strangely good way. This beer made me a true believer in ECB.

Bottle 65cl.
Unclear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, moderate hoppy, orange. Flavor is light heavy sweet and peel bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090725]
