Juancho (204), New York, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 On Tap @ Rogue in Portland. Hazy copper, with a thick orange tinged head. Wonderful hoppy citrus aroma, like a good whiff of fresh grapefruit. Hazy and thick. One of Rogue’s very best. Nice sweetness balanced deftly by copious hops. This one is a keeper. Anyone know ABV ??
spikester (459), Salem, Oregon, USA Nov 20, 2008 Pours cloudy amber with a huge white fluffy head. Good aromas of citrus hops.
Flavor is typical grapefruit IPA flavor with enough malts to keep it drinkable.
Lots of lacings.
Palate is good and fairly smooth.
Overall impression is it hits the middle of the style. The unique features are the cloudiness and the enormous head. presario (2490), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Nov 19, 2008 Thick yellow tinged head on amber. Promising aroma is not too pushy. Fragrant hops. Really strong peppery tongue tingling hops to start. Chewy wood taste. Citrus finish. Hops settle in for a very nice drinking experience. mgermani (637), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 30, 2008 Pours a cloudy orange with a modest dense head with great retention and fantastic lacing. Aroma is oddly rancid, oily hops. Taste is quite bitter, nice malty backbone but not enough to sweeten the finish, which is dry and grapefruity. Nice crisp body with assertive carbonation. Very quaffable, but I do like a little sweetness in my IPAs. jah noth (953), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 24, 2008 Tantalizing aroma of melons and citrus. Cloudy orange amber with a thick, rocky head. Rich and creamy. Definitely bitter. Lots of resin underneath and a lot of lemon lime on top. A little to coarse to be great. MaltOMeal (352), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Oct 21, 2008 bomber thanks to KAggie. Shared at October Houston tasting. Pours a cloudy, faded orange with a thin white head. Nose is earthy and citrus hops. taste is pine and earthy. Mouthfeel is resinous and has a big, harsh bitter finish.
