On tap @ Rogue Public House, Portland. Clear amber with a tiny head. Mild aroma of citrus and caramel. Flavor is mostly sweet caramel malt with a medium hop bitterness. Light body with flat carbonation and a flabby mouth feel. I wasn’t too impressed with this, seemed old and was pretty much flat.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Fairly dissapointed with this one. Rogue has been great so far but this one let me down big time. Pours copper with a few white bubbles that quickly disappear leaving it with no head. Aroma is mediocre. Pale and sweet malts on the nose. Flavour is predominately sweet, caramel malts and nothing else. Boringgggg

On tap at Rogue Brewpub, North Beach SF. Pale, faintly cloudy amber pour with a decently frothy head. Nose was really piney, fairly dry, with citrus rind. Body was very crisp but not overly carbonated. A bit of sweetness comes through in the flavor to give things some balance. But overall it’s a tad one dimensional, even if that dimension is enjoyable.

Appearance: clear caramel with rich, lingering foamy head. Aroma: big citrus hops; some pine. Taste: bitter citrus and piney hops with a hint of sweet caramel malt. Finish: long and bitter. Notes: FWIW, I am not a pale ale fan. This seemed well put together, but I still didn’t like it. My fault, not theirs.

bottle at Hashigo Zake Aroma: hops, butterscotch; Appearance: misty apple juice, good lacing, nice thick head; Taste: bitter, some sweetness, acidic; Palate: full bodied; creamy, lively carbonation - fills the mouth, slight astringency; Overall: expectations met and then some, not to waste on food but yes it would complement pork, chicken, and lightly spiced food and possibly hot spiced food.

Brightly flavored pale ale, hazy golden-orange, moderate citrus nose with juicy hop flavor, finishing on the drier side. Very good.

A solid beer and Eugene/rogue seem to have a great little partnership. Has some Rogue-y flavors of spicy, floral sweet maltiness.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours pale gold with a medium, all white head. A fairly hoppy aroma, laden with pine and citrus, and some malt and caramel. Wonderful flavor with great balance. Sweet up front with more caramel, then plenty of bitterness to finish it out. Average body and carbonation. Some lingering bitterness in the finish. A fantastic APA.

Draught at Rogue Public House. Pours copper with cream colored head. The aroma is raisin and Pacific Northwest hops with a nice piney note. The flavor is odd grainy sweetness with some iced tea, lemony hops, and some melon and grapefruit. It leaves a slightly bitter finish and aftertaste. Ok.

Bomber bottle shared with Parksy. Dirty yellow with lots of floaties, but with an impressive clingy white head. Bready caramel malt and fruity hop aroma. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, almost like buckwheat, fruity hoppy undertones. Soundly bitter finish.
