Sully (1363), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia Jan 9, 2004 It is a real shame that the older versions of these beers were much better. Not simply because I yearn for the 'good old days' but really because they were better. I think that one of the problems is that the excise tax on beer in this country is linked to the ABV so to keep prices down the brewers have reduced the alcohol. Add to that the cost of cheap adjuncts such as cane sugar there is a real diminution in flavour. I agree that the hop presence isn't bad but there is a real thinness in this beer. Drnk_McDermott (1545), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Nov 7, 2003 Updated: Nov 18, 2003Import Bottle. Not bad at all. Clean flavor with a good malt taste, color is a little light for the style. Hoppiness is a little light, too. Panzuriel (959), Westerville, Ohio, USA Jul 2, 2003 Pale yellow liquid with a small quickly disappearing head. Good sharp hop aromas are enticing. Nice crisp yet malty flavor that finishes nicely. Nice fluid mouthfeel. Good and Happy.
