2/12/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 11/2016 (2011-689)
Little cloudy orange beer, creamy solid white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, sweet peaches, citrus fruits, some desinfectant, band-aid. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, citrus and grapefruit, little bit fruity, white grapes. Aftertaste: peaches, little sweet, grappa like bitterness, bitter ending with cinnamon and nutmeg in the end, but mainly some chemical / medicinal bitterness. Great, an uninfected beer from our Gaverhopke brewmistress. But if you think about it, the first batch is probably not infected, only because Alvinne left the installation completely clean when they moved out. :-p
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6729) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 25, 2011
Good dense & fine, stable yellowish head over amber-orange beer with Grünstich. Good hops’ nose - even USA hops ? - and a serious bout of seafruit - lots of DMS, perhaps? - finishing with garden herbs and rhubarb aroma, if not sourish. Bitterish, indifferent, as from rather cheap bittering hops, but the result remains acceptable. Bananaester without the sweetness and in the finish, just a touch as of sesameoil. Quite spritzy, well-carbonated, medium bodied, but lacking in aftertaste - just some toasted grains. For a first try, more than acceptable. Maybe a more judicious choice of hops might help in the future.
