Champagne bottle. Hazy wheat blond with stiff, puffy off-white head that just doesn’t move. Big flowers with some wax and spice on the nose. Baguette, thick honey, lots of white pepper and spiced poached pear. Waxy finish and tight oily linger. Light to medium, some chew, crisp. La Chouffe-ish. Herbs over hops. Crisp, spicy, easy-drinking sturdy Belgian blonde.

Nice spicy/hoppy beer with an orange color. The beer feels to me like winter thanks to a sage flavour in the beer. Nice to have a different take on winter type beers.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Opaque yellow-orange with a medium, fluffy head. Very flowery-wheaty nose spiced with coriander. Flavor is wheaty-malty, slighly sour and yeasty, lightly spicy and lemony-fruity, soapy - like a strong wit. Medium to full body, soft CO2. A good, basic strong ale, maybe slightly unclean. 4246

20/12/2011 75cl bottle @ home - BB: oct/2016 (2011-724)

Little cloudy orange beer, small white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, peach candy, spices. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: little sweet, some alcohol, fruity, spices, bit of liquorice. Aftertaste: some citrus, more spices, peppery, slightly bitter. Pretty good brew. Has Gudrun finally made something I like? (ok, I liked the Bittersweet Symphony too) Let’s see if we get the same quality next year!

JorisPPattyn (6729) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 24, 2011
Fluffy yellowish head, fed by lively carbonated, hazy orange beer. Medicinal, pharmaceutical smell, spiced (co-taster claims coriander, I don’t get that). Pharmaceutical even more pronounced in the taste. Light bitterish, quite spicy-yeasty flavours over a slightly sweetish background. Light bodied - probably very attenuated - long pharmaceutical aftertaste, very spritzy. Need I say more?

Bart (2512) - Brussels, BELGIUM - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle @ kerstbierfestival Essen 2011. Golden blond coloured beer iwth some very light carbonation and a short white head. Herby wintery aroma (hints of spices like cloves) and short yeasty touches. Medium to full palate. Finish is sweet yeasty and herby smooth hinted. Not bad.
