This amber-coloured brew is the perfect autumn beer, with a delicious, rich, fruity palate, dry spice overtones and a memorable, berry aftertaste. Hops used: Goldings, Styrian Goldings

Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in November 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale russet in colour with a thin white head. Light dusty hops in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. PAle malts give a digestive biscuit note with tart redcurrant fruit giving harsh woody notes. Strong floral hop resins give a sharp bitter aftertaste. Starting to run out of legs in the weak finish with dry oak cask notes evident. I would stick with Warrior for a session though.

A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks.
Amber with a thin off white head. Bready malt aroma with plenty of caramel and just no where near enough hops. Gets a reasonable score because there is nothing wrong with it but if ratebeer had a category for imagination... dear oh dear...

imdownthepub (7488) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2009
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with white head. A sweetish, slightly hopped malty beer with a bit of caramel thrown in but otherwise fairly innocuous.

Cask Handpump at the Benjamin Huntsman JDW, Sheffield 14/11/2009 Hoppy aroma. Golden amber coloured hoppy and fruity with a little dryness and bitterness in a peppery lasting malt finish.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber with a cream head. Aromas are caramel and citrus with earthy hops. Flavours are sweet caramel and, er, not much else. Still, its an OK simple brew.

Cask at The Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Amber with a white head. Malt aroma and taste with some sour fruit and some bitterness. I found this rather understated but quite acceptable. Served a little too warm.
