2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 8, 2011
Tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in November 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale russet in colour with a thin white head. Light dusty hops in the short aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. PAle malts give a digestive biscuit note with tart redcurrant fruit giving harsh woody notes. Strong floral hop resins give a sharp bitter aftertaste. Starting to run out of legs in the weak finish with dry oak cask notes evident. I would stick with Warrior for a session though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 14, 2009
A Mes rate. Cask at Baker Street ’Sporks. Amber with a thin off white head. Bready malt aroma with plenty of caramel and just no where near enough hops. Gets a reasonable score because there is nothing wrong with it but if ratebeer had a category for imagination... dear oh dear...

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Amber with white head. A sweetish, slightly hopped malty beer with a bit of caramel thrown in but otherwise fairly innocuous.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Amber with a cream head. Aromas are caramel and citrus with earthy hops. Flavours are sweet caramel and, er, not much else. Still, its an OK simple brew.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2009
Cask at The Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Amber with a white head. Malt aroma and taste with some sour fruit and some bitterness. I found this rather understated but quite acceptable. Served a little too warm.
