ericnixon (711), Lenox, Massachusetts, USA Nov 15, 2007 On tap at the Spotty Dog in Hudson, NY. Clear reddish brown color with a hoppy flavor. Very smooth.
willblake (1932), Long Branch, New Jersey, USA Apr 29, 2008 20070428 Tap at TAPNY. Another mostly flat beer, light brown with no head. Pretty standard brown ale but with undertones of citrus and a bit of diacetyl. A big step up from the other beers I had from Evans, but my ass remains un-kicked. goldtwins (3733), Nesconset, New York, USA Dec 10, 2007 Tap @ the brewpub. Poured a clear amber-brown color with a beige head. Nice citrus hop aroma with some caramel underneath. The flavor had a mix of caramel and grapefruit citrus. Malty finish and semi-sweet. Light hop bitterness on the finish. Rastacouere (5270), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 28, 2007 Cloudy dark copper to brown ale covered by a light white films. Minty and herbal in the nose. It tries to plays the hoppy card with full on American citrus aromatics and a highly bitter finish. Not so well rounded still, the malt is limited to soft toastiness and lacks richness or firmness while its combination with the hops feels like a thin spicy meal. Rather poor-bodied as well. The aroma remains its most interesting feature as the follow-up was not up to the same level. linc33 (136), Albany, New York, USA Jul 13, 2007 Updated: Jul 20, 2007On tap at the Pump Station, 13 July 07. Appearance: definitely brown. Not one of my favourites of the visit, I believe I ranked it sixth of the seven beers I tasted. Companion and I agreed: how this won major awards was beyond our comprehension.
