Evans Old Musty

Poured a clear deep amber brown color. The aroma had unexpected herbal notes with notes of mint and spruce. The flavor was light and dry. Roasty malt finish. Mild bitterness at the end.

Appears rich & thick, a mahogany-tinted amber with a soft head fading to wisps. A potent aroma is again "thick and rich" and procures honey, brandy, white wine, PNW’s. I found the flavor to be highly alcoholic... "hot", as it were, with an astringent alcohol-affront. Thick, warming palate and a high hop character that could use some aging to mellow. Honey. Cinnamon. Overall enjoyable.

on tap-pours a tan head. Color is brown with a red tint. Aroma is citrus hops. Taste is citrus hops & malt, well balanced. Mild carbonation.

Clear brown body with a very little head. Weird English Ale and Barley Wine hybrid. Caramel, toasted malts followed by some hop bitterness. Watery body. The most interesting of the 8 beers I had at this pub. I can even imagine myself buying a bottle of that thing for home although it would probably have the time to become a Very Old Musty before I drink it.
