2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20 ericnixon (734) - Northampton, USA - NOV 15, 2007
On tap at the Spotty Dog in Hudson, NY. Black color with a burnt coffee bean aroma. Nice and smooth mouthfeel that had good consistency. The taste was sorta burnt which detracted from the beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5921) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 28, 2007
Slowly fading beige head covers the murky dark brown. Indeed woody and smoky nose stays consistent in mouth. The roast is soft, mild and covered by a constant whisper of caramel. Despite the following sweetness, it remains drinkable and balanced. Softest flowery hop touch. Nothing too complex, but a group of coherent flavours. Without a doubt one of my favourite of theirs.

Brown body without much head. Mapple syrop, roasted malt and liquorice flavours in the thinnest most watery porter body I have ever had. Evan’s Rowland’s Porter? I really don’t understand why two people would claim the ownership of this thing?

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Probiere (992) - Iowa, USA - APR 11, 2006
Also now advertised as being brewed with smoked malt. I should mention that it tasted like it was brewed with smoked malt. As far as smoked goes, it was very nice, but there wasn’t much else going on. A lot of the mouthfeel came from the oiliness of the smoke, would have been thin otherwise. Looked like their most popular beer, two growler fills and several pints ordered in the 20 minutes I was at the bar.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - SEP 19, 2005
As fresh as fresh can be. Black with some brown highlights and a small head. Aroma is mostly espresso. Taste is roasty with some cola flavors. Just a bit thin bodied for my liking.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ABUSEDGOAT (1937) - California, USA - JUN 23, 2005
Typical colored porter - dark. Smelled of roast! Despite that, it came off as watery. It needs more to it to be interesting. For now it’s a simple unoffensive brew.
