[Gravity cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Pale gold, small white head. Weird soapy fruity aroma, like the "red" flavour of loo cleaner. Not a pleasant whiff at all. Strangely it’s much better on tasting - there’s fruit up front, a hint of tea and then you really get the rose petals, Lots of rose in there in fact, and a slightly dry and fairly bitter finish. Weird beer, but at least it’s interesting, and it did grow on me as I drank more - as long as I didn’t sniff it too heavily!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JohnRMurdoch (2257) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - NOV 5, 2012
Cask @ The Counting House JDW. Hazy golden yellow colour, reasonable head. Stale marzipan aroma. Slightly sour flowery fruity flavour. Vinegar aftertaste. Not great.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nocturne (383) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2012
Cask at JDW. Hazy gold with a white cap. I get a little of that pineapple on the nose along with a herbal hoppiness and subtle spice blend. Feels light of body but not what I’d call watery; however, it’s not the best stage for the pleasant spicy and fruity flavours to perform on. Credit to them for trying something interesting though.

Hand pulled at Figure of Eight, Birmingham. Pale, no head. Some nice hop flavour, especially to start. Disappears somewhat, like a plastic bag being deflated. A bit sickly through the middle to end, but not bad.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jonb5 (241) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 1, 2012
Pint at the JDW real ale festival. Golden colour, haze rose to the top but didn’t fully clear, one finger head, decent retention, kept some lacing. Aroma was mainly strawberry, quite pleasant. Tasted citrus fruits, finish long and bitter also a bit bready. Minimal carbonation, fairly smooth, texture slightly thin and watery. Overall decent afternoon summer ale, slightly lacking depth.
