[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Amber, moderate white head. Watery, incredibly bland. Just a bit of sweet caramel & nothing else. Inoffensive, barely noticed it going down. What is the point of this beer?

Cask@The Tram Depot, Cambridge. Slightly hazy deep orange colour with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, wood, mild bread, some honey and sweet fruits. Flavour is quite similar with a rather mellow bitterness.

Tasted this in the Saltcot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin buff head. Weak aroma of paper thin malt and little else. Watery mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a thin digestive biscuit with hints of dry raisins. Very slight hoppy aftertaste but hard to detect though. Dry hazelnut finish with a touch of liquorice. A mediocre session ale.

Clear medium to dark orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, nutty peel, light hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, flowery hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20101101]

Some floral aroma. Amber coloured smooth on the palate and floral with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a lasting malt finish.

Cask (handpump) at Lord Moon Of The Mall (JDW) on 1 November 2011. Amber colour. Clear. Loose white head. Not much aroma. Some caramel in the flavour. A little sharp on the palate. Quite thin mouthfeel. Drinkable but not much to get excited about.

Cask. The High Cross, Leicester. Medium white head, clear copper body. Hops, slightly less malt, weetabix, ending with biscuit and tomato ketchup coming through. Quite sweet with some tangy bitterness. Dry finish. Dull bitter.

Cask @ John Wylie, JDW. Golden colour, white head. Aroma is light malted, little fruityness. Flavour is malty, spicy, fruity. Slightly bitter and dry finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 4/11/10. Amber with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, caramel and red fruit aroma. Flavour of digestive biscuits, with more caramel and a short, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask, Highcross, Leicester. Amber with a firm white foam. Aromas are biscuit malts with melon and toffee. Quite light but well balanced. Flavours are sweet malts with peppery hops. Lightly fruity with a gentle hop finish. Like last festivals Everards effort. A well put together bitter.

Cask - The Bell Hotel (JDW), Norwich. Poured a clear copper brown with a disappearing off-white head. Sweet caramel malt aromas, some toastiness. Much of muchness again really on the tongue, just a touch of fruitiness. Lightly bitter in the end but fairly nondescript, generally speaking. Soft, light & slightly watery body with a short finish.
