Creamy and slightly more opaque than my previous experiences with the style. Soft and smooth on the front of the palate, with a small burst of roasted malt to finish. Punctuated throughout with tasty chocolate notes. A very good session beer, so much so that I spent my whole Christmas Eve supping it - high praise indeed! RichardGretton (2555), Leicestershire, Leicestershire, England May 4, 2002 Dark creamy looking beer, with a smooth but slightly chemically after taste. neilrichards (191), Leicestershire, England Mar 28, 2002 A good example of a typical English mild ale. In my opinion, this is still Everards best drink, whilst not being anything special.
