Nekronos (1949), Xalapa, Mexico Jan 15, 2006 Well, now we are talking, it was really creamy in the head, but it was too pale for an Old Ale, I think, but it was nice. Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Mar 29, 2004 Hand pulled at the Saddlers Arms, Solihull. Big toffee malt flavour. Very smooth and thick. Probably the most confident I've ever felt about calling a beer chewy. Pleasing aroma and a ruddy brown opacity with a thick, level, fluffy head. Excellent stuff. thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Oct 16, 2007 Cask@The Tram Depot, Cambridge. Amber with a a creamy offwhite head. Grassy hop aroma. Good toffee and grassy hops flavours. Very good. JonMoore (1551), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Sep 22, 2004 Cask at the Three Nuns, Loughborough. Amber with tight white head. The aroma and flavour are malty and sweet. Has a dry finish. Good beer, which I quite like despite it being the only beer I’ve ever tried that consistently and predictably gives me a cracking headache the next day. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Oct 22, 2004 Deep reddish bronze colour. The aroma was rather faint as the beer was served too cold.. Dry malt dominates the flavour. Caramel, nuts and fruit also put in an appearance. Clean, quite dry, finish. Not very bitter but drinks nicely. Cask (handpump) at Lord Moon of the Mall (JDW), Whitehall, London.
