2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at JDW, Streatham Hill. Pours amber with a slightly off white head. Aroma indicates this isn’t quite right. A lot of butterscotch in the aroma. Medium body, light carbonation. Hmmmm, sweet with lots of butterscotch/toffee, some lemon too. Poor.

This is pretty much nothing more than a new county tick. Otherwise a passable and run of the mill ESB, there are many better options if you are looking for something to session. I won’t be rushing to find any more Everards.
Aroma / Appearance - A semitransparent coppery body does not build any anticipation of a great experience. Old hardwood floors which have been used for decades smother the aroma of semisweet baking chocolate and musty books. This smells old like an antique shop but more timid.
Flavor / Palate - Hardwood floors, plain biscuits, and a vague oaky texture tease the senses. Unfortunately it creates nothing but a stale impression of an interesting beer. This is not the most flawed example. Even so it is not worth a second chance.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Small white head. Clear amber body. Earthy vinous aroma with spicy grainy notes. Dry fruity earthy spicy taste with floral grainy notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, soft, flat mouthfeel. Dryish earthy spicy fruity aftertaste with honey and vaguely funky notes. Interesting and unusual, but not that good. (0.568l cask at John Scott’s Pub, Göteborg.)
