Cask, Seasonal;
A new addition to our range of Guest Ales, Regimental IPA is based on the traditional IPA beer styles, brewed to satisfy the tastes of the British Army in India. Brewed with Maris Otter malt and a small amount of Crystal Malt to give the beer its rich, amber bronze colour. Challenger copper hops are added to give the beer its full rounded bitter character, along with Bodicea and Cascade hops to give a dry finish with spicy, floral hop aromas.

Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A clear deep golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of orange, some caramel, subtle biscuit and slight spicy, floral hops. Taste is similar of orange, subtle spice, some caramel, subtle biscuit and muted floral, grassy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, musky, floral hop bitterness in the finish. A dull, uninspiring IPA with an unappealing hop profile. Nope.

Can, 50 cl. Clear golden body with a foamy white head. Light aroma with a bit of malt and caramel, and some hoppy citrus notes. A bit underwhelming compared to modern IPAs. Light malty taste with moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. There are some weak hoppy flavours in there, too. Light body with average carbonation. The bitterness increases during the finish. This beer is rather anonymous. Easy to drink, but it lacks character. Very much a light version of an IPA.

Can 50cl. Small white head. Caramel color. Caramel brown color, a bit hazy. Aroma is bark, caramel, leaves, earth. Taste is sweet with a woody after.

Bottle@home. Amber clear. Small head. Floral licorice. Pronounced upfront and lingering bitterness. Not harsch. Dry finish. Fresh. Like it.

It is a clear red golden ale with coarse foam. The aroma is almost absent and confined to slightly malty aroma with slight hop in the background. The taste is slightly caramel malt with dull hop bitterness at the end. Carbonation is also weak and do not contribute to the optimization of its weak hop bitterness. It meets surely the English type correctness of an ESB. Tasting notes are a little flower, citrus and caramel malt. The finish is medium dry. A little boring ESB.

Crystal clear medium amber body with an off-white head that leaves some lacing. Sweet and quite strong aroma of caramel, generic fruits and red berries. Under-hopped for an IPA, pretty hoppy for a premium bitter. Moderate flavour that follows the aroma. There is a light to moderate bitterness in the finish. Fairly light-bodied, dry and with a moderate carbonation. A nice caramel/fruit combo without much hops, I guess this is what you call "well balanced", i.e. "pretty boring".

Very little hoppy aroma. Balanced malty taste woth a bitter hoppy finish. A dull below average IPA.
