COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask, Seasonal;
A new addition to our range of Guest Ales, Regimental IPA is based on the traditional IPA beer styles, brewed to satisfy the tastes of the British Army in India. Brewed with Maris Otter malt and a small amount of Crystal Malt to give the beer its rich, amber bronze colour. Challenger copper hops are added to give the beer its full rounded bitter character, along with Bodicea and Cascade hops to give a dry finish with spicy, floral hop aromas.

On cask at Golden Fleece Stamford - a decent biscuit coloured body, white head that soon goes, nice citric nose. A bit thin, but very refreshing with grapefruit and kumquat, perhaps one for a nicer day.

50cl can, directly from the can. Medium carbonation. Aroma of fruits, caramel, sweet malt, grass. Flavour is medium sweet, light to medium bitter, floral, light to medium spiced. It’s a decent well-rounded brew, but nothing special.

Fresh can. Aroma of darker fruits, soft spices, caramel, a little floral and metallic. Pours clear copper, visible carbonation, nice frothy off white head that laces to the glass. Soft medium to light bitterness, light to medium sweetness. Medium to thin body, a bit oily, soft carbonation and light dry floral finish. A little generic and in the middle of the road. Didn’t expect much so actually pretty decent.

Übel. IPA??? Wohl kaum!!! Bitter??? Vielleicht.

Medium karbonering.

Aroma of hops and malt. Light brown color and clear liquid with a fine white head. Medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Average carbonation and medium body. Almost identical to the Everards Original!

Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A clear deep golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of orange, some caramel, subtle biscuit and slight spicy, floral hops. Taste is similar of orange, subtle spice, some caramel, subtle biscuit and muted floral, grassy hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, musky, floral hop bitterness in the finish. A dull, uninspiring IPA with an unappealing hop profile. Nope.

Can, 50 cl. Clear golden body with a foamy white head. Light aroma with a bit of malt and caramel, and some hoppy citrus notes. A bit underwhelming compared to modern IPAs. Light malty taste with moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. There are some weak hoppy flavours in there, too. Light body with average carbonation. The bitterness increases during the finish. This beer is rather anonymous. Easy to drink, but it lacks character. Very much a light version of an IPA.

Bottle@home. Amber clear. Small head. Floral licorice. Pronounced upfront and lingering bitterness. Not harsch. Dry finish. Fresh. Like it.
