Bottle at home ... copper ... thin tan head ... sweet metallic malt ...again a bit metallic ... quite fruity ... reasonale hop ... but just a bit blah.

Bottle. Bronze with some creaminess. Quite nutty with some carbonation. Quite reasonable but not really a Christmas beer.

Bottled, 330ml from Tesco in Banbury in box set with a Christmas Pud. Chestnut with a fine white head. The beer is a fairly standard malty bitter with a touch of earthy background hops. Some hints of a spiciness, but I don’t think that this means added spice. A touch on the stale side in the close. An odd combination with the little Christmas Pud, when do I have that?

Bottle, not BC, out of a festive giftpack also containing a mini Xmas pud flavoured wth ’Vintage...Thornbridge Stout’. Pours bright copper with a well-fed cream head. Attractive fig-laden aroma mingling notes of pepper, wholemeal, hazelnut and an unexpected floral/mandarin cheesecake streak reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Celebration. Mouth empty and stale in comparison with papery flying saucer/licked (Xmas card) envelope notes. Some salvaging walnut, chocolate, soap and biscuit, but it’s still an anticlimax. Ends up OK, but I’m more excited about the Thornbridge in the Xmas pud...
