3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 23, 2012
4.5%, 500ml Brown bottle, best before May 2010, drank early April 2010. Poured into a Batemans badged pint sleeve.
Deep amber/auburn coloured body, clear. The head was pure white and held some good lacing as the beer sank.
Malted biscuits, hints of toffee and caramel in the smell, no hop content aroma wise.
Fairly sweet tasting, as the smell suggested, the maltiness winning out over anything else. A hop bitterness does rear its head as the mouth dries.
There is a malty richness in the body, and it is easy to drink, but something is lacking somewhere.

Quite an average best bitter in my opinion, toffeeness to this, golden in colour with a disc like white head, nice blend of malt and hops, bitter and sweet, medium carbonation. Feels almost like a bottle of lager.

Bottle. Medium off white head, amber body. Grassy hop, biscuity, jammy fruit, papery cardboard, toffee. Peppery bitterness. Dry finish. Beacon in the bottle is much better. I’ve never really warmed to Tiger, much preferring Beacon or Original.

Dry, bitter finish with notes of bread and caramel and a lingering metallic touch.Decent, if nothing special. 04.03.11.
