2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330 ml can bought at a Nepalese grocery store somewhere on Temple Street, Yau Ma Tei.
Translucent piss pale dull golden yellow colour with bits of dusty yeast sediments; Very thin head and soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Minimal lacing with notable slight carbonation; Sweet, slightly pungent smell of light malt, with apple juice, grains, sugar, and faint grass; Near zero sweet taste of very thin malt, with very light dough, faint alcohol, faint wet cardboard, hidden alcohol, hint of lemon and faint grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is typical flat tasting thin malt base, but with notable dough, dryness, and bits of leftover yeastiness. Paper taste is pretty low, no sweetness (good), some hidden stale bread alcohol (!) and not much else; Hoppiness is faint grass nose, faint citrus and grass taste, and detectable thin bitterness for a non-finish; Dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Despite its advertised use of ‘adjuncts’ (most likely unmalted barley), it’s mostly for attenuation, and its taste is neither sweet nor ricey as feared. It has some passable dryness and doughtyness, but the resulting hidden stale booze kinda spoiled it. Better than most Chinese and Asian macros, worth a try at least.

Bière trouvée sur un trek au népal. Moins bonne que le nepal ice, pas trop houblonnée et acqueuse, très légère. Mais c une des 2 seule bière népalaise que l’on trouve dans les montagnes.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at Indian restaurant in Shibuya. Pale lager appearance, tastes quite smooth, slight fruity element, bit if hoppiness, not so bad. Aroma not so interesting, just lager like. Decent enough pale lager if unsurprisingly unexciting.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2012 Super pale yellow, lots of carbonation. Grassy, refreshing, lacking flawed yeast character I get in some lights, neutral light hop bitterness, no hop flavor. The best thing in the world when you’re over 5000 meters though. Look for the Coblenzer pilsner or marzen if you want one of the two good beers in Nepal.

Very light beer, but overall as good a beer as I would expect to find in nepal, if you are heading to nepal I recommend you drink this one.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Questionable thanks to Beerbiker for bringing this prime home with him. Extremly pale, even for a pale lager, small white head. Remarkable scentleess and even the flavor doesnt bring anything except a minor bitterness. Amazingly the alchohol isnt tasted either. Only good thing to say is that the weakness of this beer atleast makes it a drinkable source of liquid, so i’d might even pay for this one day if nothing else is avalible and im really really thirsty

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2010 Found in a local Kathmandu supermarket. Foamy head, bright yellow, smells of cardboard and old socks. Tastes like lemon water and has a slightly dry finish. Completely uninteresting; try the 50th anniversary brew for something slightly better, but still nothing too great.
Note that Everest is also available on draught at a select few places in Kathmandu for an offensively priced $8 a glass!
