COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark as the night, this beer is proving to be a crowd pleaser. Over 100 pounds of flaked oatmeal help round out this beer with a subtle smooth sweetness. Subtle hints of black current and roasted coffee round out the flavor. Hops produce a great balance to the aroma and flavor.

Pours black with a tan head. Smell is pretty much non existent. Taste is strong for a stout but pleasant. Overall not too bad.

My Bottom Line:
Coconut milk, vanilla and dark chocolate develop a personable flavor profile for this slender Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the brown-edged darkness.
-A lingering cocoa flavor colours the aftertaste, alongside light roastiness.
-I appreciate the fact that this was not served on nitro.
-This was very drinkable throughout.
-Oatmeal adds comfort in the mouthfeel as well as complexity in the flavor profile.

On tap at Naked City.

Tap at Bier Stein. Poured a deep brown with a gigantic mass of tan foam as a head. Aroma was all roast, outside of some very light cocoa and oats. Flavor brought more of the oat to the forefront, but still more roast than anything else with some chocolate and coffee flavors hiding behind. Slightly one (and a half) dimensional, but I still really enjoyed this beer.

Black brew with ring of head. Nose of rich roast barley and chocolate malt that translates superbly to flavor. A smooth oatmeal stout with robust barley and chocolate highlights, dense and masterfully crafted. Surprisingly complex with perhaps some black patent nuances and a touch of coal. An outstanding introduction to an unknown brewer that will surely be putting itself prominently on the map with more brews like this!
