I got this at a Railcats game which is awesome. It’s not too vanilla and a pretty nice roasty porter if a touch watery. It has a decent coffee like character and a solid bit of bitterness in the finish. I’m not saying this is a world beater but it drinks good and I like it fine.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A vanilla rye porter which is far more vanilla than it is rye or even porter. Much too sweet for my tastes. Pours black, tan head, vanilla aroma is pretty nice though. Tried with Guy and Matt at Fat Dans in Indy in 2016.

This is a vanilla rye porter: Tan head dissipates quickly to a slight cling to glass edge. Nice slightly carbonated mouth feel with a dark malt/rye front pallet. Just a very slight vanilla taste...would like to taste just a bit more. Finishes crisp with a roasted malt flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 oz. can, from StFun. Pours black, with a small, bubbly, tan head. Aroma of chocolate pudding, rye spice, caramel, licorice, and light cinnamon. Sweet and syrupy, lightly bitter, with a smooth rye finish. Medium body, creamy and smooth, and a bit astringent. This is a fun, flavorful porter. Harsh and bitter at first, but it gets markedly better as it warms.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque except at the edges ruby red brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The smooth mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a medium coffee aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of roasted malt brown malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can thanks to StFun and free beer week! Pours a deep brownish black with bubbly tan head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of mostly dark malt and fruity yeast, not really getting any vanilla or rye. Taste is at least more toward the vanilla, lacking on the rye for me. Solid porter, just nothing that special.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can to glass, average creamy light brown head that rapidly diminished.Light aroma of bread, chocolate, coffee. Light to medium mouth feel a bit thin for a porter but a nice bitter finish. Vanilla on the start but rapidly falls away to coffee. At 4.8 alc this could be a good session if the sweetness doesn’t get in the way.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
16 oz. can from Mishawaka brewpub pours black with some red around the edges. Small off-white head leaves some lacing spots. Aroma has vanilla and some chocolate, with a bit of coffee bitterness. Taste is bitter for a porter, with a long finish.. Body is light to medium without too much carbonation. Mouthfeel is creamy. Easy to drink, but not quite up to my expectations.
