   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 10/20
Darkmagus82 (1313) - - AUG 14, 2014
Transfer from BA review on 11-19-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a hazy amber-orange color with some light red highlights. Upon pouring there is a nice 1.5 finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, fading slowly over time and leaving a decent level of lacing on the side of the glass. Smell – The nose is overall very light. The aroma is mainly of a bready and a light yeast smell, mixed with some grapefruit citrus and pine hop and a bit of orange citrus sweetness. Taste – The taste begins with a bready and sweeter citrus flavor. The citrus starts largely orange in nature, but soon grapefruit comes to the tongue. The grapefruit at the start is on the sweeter side with some flavors of yeast mixed with it. Some pine hop and other lighter fruit flavors come to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste. At the end, the citrus flavors of orange and grapefruit change more from sweet to bitter and mix with some herbal hop flavors to cast a bitter to linger on the tongue which leaves a somewhat off flavor that does not fit with the rest of the flavors to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is slightly on the lower side. A boost in the carbonation may have been nice to accentuate the fruit flavors and to meld out the strange bitter flavor it leaves on the tongue. Overall – Its taste was fairly nice upfront but with the lingering off-bitter at the end it is not one I would likely go to on more occasion.

Nephilium (1360) - Ohio, USA - JUL 24, 2013
Mild tart aroma, with a hint of spice. Pours a hazy orangish-amber with a thin white head. Mild citrus notes, a touch of Belgian esters, and minimal hop presence. This comes across almost more of a wheat beer then it does a Belgian IPA. The alcohol is well hidden, but that’s about the best thing going for it.

Heathen (1470) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 27, 2013
THOUGHTS: Not so hot. The Belgian side and the IPA half don’t seem to mesh all that well. Some of the individual flavors are nice on their own but don’t go well together. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, medium orange with a small, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma was a bit weak and had light caramel and pale malt; light to moderate apricot hops; light to moderate spicy, Belgian yeast; lighter doughy yeast; light-colored and slightly sour fruit. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and bitter with and average to long duration. There was caramel and pale malts, citrus, pine and earthy hops, spicy Belgian yeast, a little white bread and earthy yeast. The medium body was dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry finish.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4918) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky dark apricot color with an enormous fluffy orange-white head that lingered and left incredible lacing. The aroma was tart, sour and tangy with moderate tropical fruits and lemon. The flavor was dryish with notes of pepper, bread, tropical fruits and lemon. Medium length finish of bread and tropical fruit. Medium body. Solid.

Overall a nice Belgian IPA. Very smooth and easy to drink, with a nice flavor and kick to it.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber with a white head. Nose and taste of Belgian yeast, lemongrass, citrus and dried orange peel. Light malt. Taste is slightly metallic, but drinkable. Body is the lighter side of medium. Finishes slightly dry floral/citrus peel.

Leafs93 (1683) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 20, 2013
Pours hazy burnt orange with minimal white head. Aroma is grainy, earthy and citrus. Taste is sweet with very minimal bitters, a touch of tartness as well. Medium bodied with a slick texture, alcohol is well hidden. Seemed more like a straight pale ale then a Belgian IPA.

Bottle. Poured a hazy cooper color, thin white head. Yeast, citrus and hops aroma; sweet with a bit of a sour note to it, and mild hoppiness. This is an okay beer.
