Cloudy golden color. Good head. Strangely sweet smell. Also has a sweet taste. Both are kind of like sweet tarts. Bitter and candy like aftertaste.

Nice head, clear golden color. Citrus and pine on the nose. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Nice IPA from a brewery I just heard of today.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
From a bottle has little ipa aroma, just dull hops for the most part on the nose. And yea, ditch the west coast thing. Call it west grove style if you want to use the word west in there. Looks like any other pale beer except it has a somewhat thin staying creamy head. Rather astringent from the start. Yes, that sharp piercing bitter thing really hits the back of the throat and annoyingly hangs there. If I didn’t know better, I would put this in the piercing pilsner style. Rude and difficult, tho it has that piercing bitter pilsner thing happening, its way over the top. Difficult? Did I say difficult? Same with finish, not impressed. Finish is simly long bitter sharp thing that is quite unattractive.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Meh....here’s a suggestion. East Coast brewers. Quit calling your IPAs "west coast style". Not one that I’ve had has been close to it. Aroma was skunk, dark grain and a hint of mud. Pour was a nice enough murky medium gold with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was typical run of the mill average IPA. Iced tea, roasted malt and an astringent lingering bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but then again most beer is. Nice carbonation.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours hazy light orange/amber. Two finger head, tons of lacing and retention. Aroma of earthy hops and biscuit. Taste is not very balanced, too sweet for and IPA and strange metallic bitterness. Light bodied, highly carbonated, thin mouth feel. Finishes strange, lots of un fermented sugars, bread, grass, skunk. Not good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 12-17-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed orange-amber color with a huge thick off white head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading to give a nice level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is somewhat light and is a mix of some tropical fruit, citrus hop, and some bready aromas. The tropical fruits are of a mango and tangerine nature with all the aromas mixed with a light pine aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a light caramel and citrus hop flavor. Mixed with these are some light bready flavors. Toward the middle a pine and herbal hop flavor come to the tongue drowning out the caramel and citrus. This pine hop flavor grows stronger more toward the end of the taste, leaving in the end a decent bitter herbal-pine hop flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer and carbonation are both on the average side. Not bad for the style as it is a good compromise of carbonation and thickness which suits well the hop and bready flavors of the brew.
Overall – A pretty decent IPA. It leaves a rather nice bitter pine and herbal/grassy hop flavor to linger on the tongue.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 50th rating for this brew. Nose is heavy fruit, tropical and very rindy with some earth and faint caramel, some woodier and earthy overtones. Orange-golden pour with slow, average carbonation and a sudsy beige head. Taste is dry with light tang, medium but developed bitterness and stronger levels of caramel and toffee, which blend nicely with the light pine and humus, rindier citrus that’s been burnished. Lightly crisp but a very heavy full body, a bit slimy, finishes dry with cracker and a bit of rye/pumpernickel, getting some great darker and earthier notes to match the wood and bitterness from the hops. Good balance and underrated at this point, methinks.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can at the bbq. Aroma is bitter grass, lemon zest, and baking soda. Pours light blonde with medium carb and a small head. Taste is bitter citrus zest, lemongrass, and a metallic aftertaste. Mouthfeel is puckeringly bitter and ultimately unpleasant. Not for me.
