3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
THOUGHTS: Pungent at first, then weak. A little more earthy than what I’d expect for a West Coast IPA. Nice with great balance, but nothing unique.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light to medium, orangey amber with an average, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished lasted and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light caramel; heavy pine, spruce, minty and earthy hops; and moderate grapefruit and orange hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and mod bitter; while the finish was slightly sweet and sour, moderately bitter and lightly acidic with an average duration. There was citrus, pin, spruce, citrus rind, and earthy hops, pale malt and caramel. The light to medium body was a little oily and then dry with very fizzy carbonation and a lightly dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mediocre brew with a lot a room to grow. This one is a simple standard brew with nothing that I can comment that sets it apart for its competition. A re-work of the recipe is needed to give this one some new life!

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Taphouse Grille. Orange to slightly amber pour with a small soapy white head. Little bit of stale malt, cardboard, but some citrus as well.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly amber hued golden pour with marginal head and some lacing. Grass/earthy notes with faint citrus in the nose and flavor, has a soapiness to it. Easy drinking, but nothing spectacular.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not a particularly good pale ale I picked up in Asheville in 2015. Stale aroma, mild and forgettable. Citrus aroma dissipates quickly.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than about twenty seconds. Light lacing speckled the glass.
The smell had a soft sweet slightly spiced piney hops overcoating a multitude of nose smacking sweet malts.
The taste was mainly sweet between the malts and the hops displacing the bitterness from the quality. A light sweet malty aftertaste leads into a quick semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed pretty subdued for an AIPA. It doesn’t seem to have the bitterness I expected for an AIPA.
Overall, to me, this one was just okay as an AIPA I was hoping for more bitterness. I might have again depending upon the situation.

Nice head, clear golden color. Citrus and pine on the nose. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Nice IPA from a brewery I just heard of today.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
From a bottle has little ipa aroma, just dull hops for the most part on the nose. And yea, ditch the west coast thing. Call it west grove style if you want to use the word west in there. Looks like any other pale beer except it has a somewhat thin staying creamy head. Rather astringent from the start. Yes, that sharp piercing bitter thing really hits the back of the throat and annoyingly hangs there. If I didn’t know better, I would put this in the piercing pilsner style. Rude and difficult, tho it has that piercing bitter pilsner thing happening, its way over the top. Difficult? Did I say difficult? Same with finish, not impressed. Finish is simly long bitter sharp thing that is quite unattractive.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Meh....here’s a suggestion. East Coast brewers. Quit calling your IPAs "west coast style". Not one that I’ve had has been close to it. Aroma was skunk, dark grain and a hint of mud. Pour was a nice enough murky medium gold with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was typical run of the mill average IPA. Iced tea, roasted malt and an astringent lingering bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but then again most beer is. Nice carbonation.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale gold, disappearing white head. Nose is damp wood. Bitter. Middle is butterscotch and medium grain. Finish is bitter and unbalanced.
