2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small fluffy tan head. Aroma of expired ipa. Loads of maltiness and old rotted citrus fruit. Taste of sharp lemon peel, old lemon pulp, caramel malt, and watered down grapefruit juice. This beer has a strange bitterness and is really unbalanced.

This was a very average beer. It wasn’t he worst I’ve ever had but certainly not the best.

Not too hoppy even though it is labeled as a hoppy amber. Has that coppery taste. It is okay.

Aroma Is apple, pear, apricot. Dark brown color...a little cloudy, small white head. Taste is apple, grapefruit, some alkaseltzer. Sourness is a turnoff. Not terrible though. Probably the least disappointed I’ve been in an evil genius beer. Yes, that’s a backhanded compliment.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 Draft at beer fest. Pours clear copper with a small off white head. The aroma is muted floral notes. The taste is light bitter and dry bitterness. Not a favorite from a solid local brewery.

Pours chestnut color with off white head. Slight hint of hops at first, but nose is mainly of malt. Not much body, hint if hop bitterness on the back of the tongue.

Draft at Fado in Philly. Hazy medium amber pour. Started with a large mostly white head that left some soft lace. Strong aroma of both malt and hops. Tastes of a subdued Begium Dubbel halved with a strong IPA. Bitter overcomes sweet. Portobello mushrooms. Wet autumn leaves. Burnt bamboo. Peppercorns. Light brown sugar. Tangelo pith. Celery. Plum pits. Strong hop character. Medium body. Some nice things going on. Could go either way on this but I will give it the benefit of the doubt.
