COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pineapple Hefeweizen. Brewed with pale, munich, and wheat malt, and hopped with Tettnang and Hallertau, we take the very traditional Hefeweizen and up it a notch with Pineapple! At 5.5% ABV, this will refresh your pallet during the hot summer weather.

Purchased solely based on the name, win for EG’ marketing. Pours a moderate goldn color with a small white head. Aroma is pineapple upside down cake, rotted fruit and bubble gum.....weird. Taste is odd, pineapple, bubble gum, rotted fruit, grain, sharp artificial fruit and mild tartness. eh....

Draft @ Sunset Grill & Tap. Cloudy yellow with fast during head. Aroma is light pi dapple and wheat. Flavor is how it tastes. Mild notes of pineapple with a light yeast character. The body is very light and borderline watery. It does hav a crisp wheat finish that does possess a refreshing taste on a ridiculously hot New England September afternoon. Very simple.

Smells somewhat like a fragrant soap. Golden yellow, typical color. Taste is a little cidery and sweet, but not bad.

Hazy, dark golden body, thin white head, spotty lacing. Wheat, candied pineapples, some citrus, grainy cerals. Medium bodied with moderate to lively carbonation, semi-sweet throughout, lingering artificial taste.

12oz bottle thanks to Ed5388. Poured a thick bodied apple cider orange/brown with a smaller off white foamy head. Aroma is sort of meh, notes of cloves, wet dough, raisin skins, wet toast. Body is sort of watery with a tad stronger carbonation, sort of like a light seltzer. Flavor is just a tiny step up from the aroma. Notes of clove, wet breads, super old banana peels, fruity yeast. Meh.

12oz bottle from Lacey Spirits. Drank from the bottle. Aroma of sweet pineapple juice, wheat, and yeast. Taste is much the same. Grainy, sweet sugary pineapple, and wheat, with a nice fresh pineapple aftertaste.

Bottle.
Appearance: Talk about weird, a clear amber hefeweizen with a quickly dissipating and short head. The head is off-white and barely lasts.
Aroma: Hints of pineapple, and hints of banana. No spices, perhaps a hint of lemon. There’s an odd earthy sort of smokey presence though.
Taste: An odd, but inviting mix of banana, pineapple and bubblegum. Bubblegum lingers with a hint of strawberry. There’s the odd earthy astringentness on the back end though. If that weren’t there then I would really like this.
Palate: Full-bodied, soft to moderate carbonation.
Overall: This has the potential to be good. Get rid of the odd astringent aromas and flavors and give this a bit more carbonation and I’d call this a winner.
Edit: The off-flavor is too much. Lowering this.

Pours hazy gold with a small white head that left decent lacing. Aroma is citrus, pineapple and floral. Taste is sweet with some acidic tartness. Medium bodied, crisp finish with good carbonation. Smells much better then it tastes.

Bottle Born On 20140527. Nose very sweet, pineapple and light berry, thin malt, wheat, orange and lemon citrus. Golden pour with strong carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste is sweet pineapple and wheat, gets to be a bit grainy in short order, very effervescent for a fullish body, pleasantly yeasty and faintly minerally. More phenols than esters to my senses, though they’re all covered by the pineapple. A little bit of a doughy/cookie thing going on. On the whole, a bit of a mush, but pineapple does seem to mix well with Hefeweizen.

Updated to add two-tenths. This one really grew on me, great summer beer.

Cloudy yellow with rimming white head; aroma is citrusy tart; Flava is crisp citrusy lemonish but not sour; feels light and subtly fizzy; finishes dry slightly tart.
