Dacrza (495) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Date tasted: July 18, 2013 ... Glassware: Kisatsky Tavern pint... Occasion: settling in for 90+ degree day number five and enjoying Evil genius beer number three....Appearance: hazy iced-tea-colored body, orange-brown and thinly drawn head; a bit like a fake tan?... Aroma: definite spruce cone scents, with some ... Palate: medium-bodied and crunchy at the teeth; otherwise, not a smooth drink but not annoying...Taste: wow--bitter hops greet the mouth with a crunch; the wheat seems to be swirling a confused, middling bubblegum stretch; odd aftertaste of vegetable (?!) banana comes late, but is welcome... Overall: of the three in this six-pack sampler, this hits best, with a definite agenda and a positive outcome; sometimes the tap lures us to the bottle and the bottle doesn’t reward, much like the first full-length LP from the opening band you were surprisingly moved toward; I enjoyed this nonetheless....

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Coriander and wheat aromas. Dry with sweet coriander and grass upfront turning to bitter seed in the lasting finish.

kramer (4866) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours clear dark gold body with a one finger fizzy white head that had decent retention. The nose is fruity and nicely hoppy with a light pale malt base. The bitterness is fairly restrained, with some nice floral notes. Lightly bready malt base that finishes very clean with some light bitterness. Light bodied and rather refreshing with soft gentle carbonation. Pretty nice APA, a big improvement over their other offering that I’ve had.

Pours hazy golden orange with a medium White head. Aroma is spicy, citrus and earthy. Taste is mild tartness with a touch of sweetness. Not what I expected from a APA.

12oz bottle. Hazy orange-tan body. Creamy, steady white head. Big Belgian yeast aroma. Fruity Belgian yeast flavors, some wheat, some barnyard sour. This is a pretty good Saison. Funky with a mellow peppery edge, but a strong pungent tropical fruit base. Pretty interesting beer, mislabeled.

Bottle from mari’s. Pours hazy orange with a small white head, light glass carbonation. The aroma has a Saison type aroma with lemon, orange, pepper, and yeast. The taste is sweet orange, spiciness, light bitterness. Decent.

A little bit of tartness, underlying malt, yeast, then a very full body with a strong hops touch. Not very bitter, but punchy enough.

Bottle-shaker. Hazy gold with little head. Grains, wheat, hint of malt and citrus hops. Muddy. Not good.

Bottle from mix six. Pours dark straw with frothy white head. Nose is caramel malt, a bit butterscotchy, mild fruit and hops. Tastes of pale malt, hops, with mild fruit and some butter flavor in the finish.
