hopdog (9829) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2012
12oz bottle. Dark brown, almost black pour with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of roasted pumpkin seeds, chocolate, and light spices. Tastes of chocolate, roasty, and just a trace of spices. Pumpkins and spices take a back seat (which, for me is not a bad thing).

Dogbrick (9446) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking.The beer is a cloudy brown color with a medium tan head and sparse lacing. Aroma of malt and chocolate. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, sweet chocolate and a touch of sweet spice. The finish is sweet and malt. Falls short as a "Pumpkin Porter" but otherwise decent.

gnoff (8746) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - OCT 17, 2012
Sampled at GABF on Saturday October 13, second session
As "Evil Genius - Trick or Treat Chocolate Porter". Should this really be listed as a Spice/Herb/Vegetable?
Hazy dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, dry, smoke scent. Herbal, bitter taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

DocLock (8530) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid dark blackish brown with off0white head. Nose is complex: a nice medley of roasty dark malt, brown sugar, cacao, nuts, mild pumpkin. Tastes roasty, malty, with notes of cacao, ovaltine, hazelnut, and well integrated pumpkin. This one is very good.

On tap at GABF 2012. Pours a cloudy brown color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of spicy pumpkin and other spices. Smooth light roast, toffee, bug spicy flavor with distinct cinnamon and pumpkin. Good.

5000 (6300) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 14, 2013
Bottle:   Deep brown, moderate frothy head, sandy, decent lacing.   Seems to be somewhat lacking in traditional pumpkin spices, but seems roastier with a bit of cocoa or bakers chocolate.   Definite cocoa on the tongue, a little tart too.   Pumpkin spices seem to be lacking here.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   The roasted malts and cocoa make for a decent brew, but its lacking the traditional spices of most Pumpkin Ales.

FROTHINGSLOSH (5523) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized brown head left decent lacing. The aroma was dry with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, malt and cola. The flavor was dryish, malty, toasty and bready with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cola, chocolate and pumpkin. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

EithCubes (5242) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 27, 2014
Bottle. Nose is actually pretty nice chocolate and peanut butter mix, maybe more like a smooth packaged hot cocoa with extra milk solids included (and no PB); spices are definitely not overplayed at this point. Pours very dark brown with a sudsy tan head. Taste semi-sweet with lots of smooth cocoa, just a touch of tartness and only slightly more bitterness, and can actually find a porter under everything -- spices are kept to the bare minimum and the result is a well-struck and repeatable balance. Body is a bit heavy though only medium-full, and there is an off acetone or band-aid character in the mouth, but generally a nice little porter with subtle seasonal treatment. Restraint always deserves praise.

dmac (4682) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - OCT 11, 2014
12oz bottle from Xroads. Poured a medium density dark black with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma of marshmallow, vanilla, light cinnamon, chocolate, dark toast. Medium body with stronger fizzy carbonatoin that is distracting from the beer. Flavor of dark toast, light chocolate, vanilla, hint of pumpkin spices. This is pretty good wish the body was smoother.
