hopdog (8958) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2012
12oz bottle. Dark brown, almost black pour with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of roasted pumpkin seeds, chocolate, and light spices. Tastes of chocolate, roasty, and just a trace of spices. Pumpkins and spices take a back seat (which, for me is not a bad thing).

Dogbrick (8149) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking.The beer is a cloudy brown color with a medium tan head and sparse lacing. Aroma of malt and chocolate. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, sweet chocolate and a touch of sweet spice. The finish is sweet and malt. Falls short as a "Pumpkin Porter" but otherwise decent.

DocLock (7876) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 22, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid dark blackish brown with off0white head. Nose is complex: a nice medley of roasty dark malt, brown sugar, cacao, nuts, mild pumpkin. Tastes roasty, malty, with notes of cacao, ovaltine, hazelnut, and well integrated pumpkin. This one is very good.

Sampled at GABF on Saturday October 13, second session
As "Evil Genius - Trick or Treat Chocolate Porter". Should this really be listed as a Spice/Herb/Vegetable?
Hazy dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, dry, smoke scent. Herbal, bitter taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

5000 (6300) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 14, 2013
Bottle:   Deep brown, moderate frothy head, sandy, decent lacing.   Seems to be somewhat lacking in traditional pumpkin spices, but seems roastier with a bit of cocoa or bakers chocolate.   Definite cocoa on the tongue, a little tart too.   Pumpkin spices seem to be lacking here.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   The roasted malts and cocoa make for a decent brew, but its lacking the traditional spices of most Pumpkin Ales.

On tap at GABF 2012. Pours a cloudy brown color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of spicy pumpkin and other spices. Smooth light roast, toffee, bug spicy flavor with distinct cinnamon and pumpkin. Good.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4943) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized brown head left decent lacing. The aroma was dry with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, malt and cola. The flavor was dryish, malty, toasty and bready with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cola, chocolate and pumpkin. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Dark cola colored beer with a thin beige head. Big chocolaty nose with some vanilla and some artificial chemical notes. This beer is more chocolate than any thing else. Smooth mouth feel with some spice but more artificial chocolate taste. Okay beer....

beerbill (3422) - Laurel, New York, USA - NOV 18, 2013
12 oz. bottle at The Pour House in Mountainhome, PA. Pours black with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Surprisingly mild aroma of cocoa and not much else. The flavor is very much focused on the cocoa with very little influence from the pumpkin. This drinks much more like a dessert beer. Medium bodied.

DiarmaidBHK (3418) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Bottle from Shawan Liquors. Pours black with a thin khaki head that disappears very quickly. Faint hints of cocoa on the nose. Massive cocoa on the tongue. It’s like I took a spoonful of Nestlé Kwik and dumped it in my mouth. I can’t say I’m getting much pumpkin here. Finishes clean. It’s all a bit gimmicky.
