Hey girl - just listening to you talk about how the CMY-1, CMY-5, and CMY-7 Brettanomyces yeast, along with the Pale 2-row, Munich II, Oats, Wheat, and Honey malts, together with citrus peel and juice added at KO, followed by fresh zest with balanced citrusy hop characteristics at whirlpool - makes me wanna drink this beer just for you. An all-Brett pale ale brewed with citrus peel and with citrus juice added.

Draft at Alla Spina. Pours a hazy orange with thin, quickly diminishing head. Aroma of citrus, brett, grain. Medium-light body. Taste is citrus, brett funk, cheese, oats and a lingering grainy/bready finish. Not bad but not to the same quality of Crooked Stave brews

22 oz bomber into a tulip. Pours a clear amber with a finger of white foam and sticky head. Nose is fresh brett with citrus and some grass/spice. Smells like an awesome saison. Taste is earthy brett, grass, and citrus rind. Then it goes flat. A little lingering spice but this gets real thin and watery. It’s really tasty and I keep going back for more sips but the price point is insane. This would make a hell of a four pack as a 4% session saison, but instead it’s an overpriced bomber.

22oz bottle pours hazy orange with 2 finger head. Nose is horsey brett funk, yeast spice, faint grapefruit, plastic. Taste is a brett bomb, barny funk, weird plastic, hay, subtle citrus notes. Finish is dry, grainy hay funk, light spice, malt. One dimensional with too much overpowering brett and lacking any real citrus presence.

On tap at BSBh, pours hazy golden with active carbonation and small white head. Aromas are brett, peach, wood. Flavor is lots of Brett critters, peach/apricot but it’s subtle, sweet tart innards, and wet old wood.

Bomber from greens. Light with a nice wheat and honey tang to the flavor. More of which comes through as it warms so let this one sit longer than usual. Cloudy muted yellow color. Little bit of banana and touch of spice on the finish. Nice especially for being so low alcohol.

Tap at CBC 2014. Golden-yellow in the glass, small head. Mild malty-sourish aroma. Starts mild, not as sourish as exspected, fruity hints of apricot. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Nice!

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo NY. hazy peach/nectarine pour, citrusy, light bandaid, . seems like a watered down version of a better beer.

On draught at Roscoe’s for the Sour Beer Summit. Hazy golden peach color. Aroma is light citrus, yeast, and bandage. Taste is similar to aroma, with dank but manageable yeast sourness and citrus. Strange, but good and light.

Bottle: Thanks, Jason. Cloudy, dingy amber body with a mostly fuzzy, slightly creamy eggshell cap. Big rotten pineapple & funky hay aroma, loaded with brettanomyces. Lightly tart lemon-lime with a small backbone of acidity & faint must. More mild on the palate than expected. Didn’t realize this was only 4% ABV til later. Lemon spritz, citrusy, a touch of musty cobwebs, funky Brett, underripe pineapple shards, & some freshly cut grass. Light, refreshing, & pretty quaffable.

Slightly hazy apricot color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly leaving minimal lacing. Aroma of light citrus and lemon with some apple and mild hay from the brett. The taste is both juicy and tangy at first with oranges, lemons and tangerines. Dries out nicely with a musty wet hay character. Finishes with a hint of phenolic taste and mild herbal hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is aqueous with a light body and medium/high carbonation. Very nice and Orval like with well blended flavors. Drinkable and refreshing.

Pale, cloudy hay yellow with half inch of white head and scant lacing. Sour apple-y scent, brett funkiness, yeast notes that share similarities to champagne, lemon-y citrus rind, and detectable cream. Average carbonation, puckery sour mouthfeel but smooth and not overbearing, with average thickness, crisp finish. Crisp funky brett that’s somewhat tame and displays a creaminess, grape, champagne yeast, citrus throughout, finishes doughy. Dangerously good, recommended for someone with interest but little experience with sour beers.
