3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of clove, anise, yeast, melon rind, and a hint of hops and roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, Belgian spices, and bitter hops in the finish. Roasty and tasty, I quite enjoyed it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark, lightly smokey, hints of dark malt. A bit of bitterness in a hoppy way through the finish. Interesting and different.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a big off white head. Aroma is saison like yeast with a rye like note. Taste is standard saison with a small but prominent burst of smoke out front. Smooth body, but missing the pleasant lively carb I like in a saison. More interesting than good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a deep brown color with a very low, filmy tan head. Aroma has a strong saison yeasty note, fruity with some light esters, mild earthy hops presence with a light citrus and pine kick coming in later. Flavor had a mild fruity note imparted by the yeast early, some toasted sweet caramel notes in the middle with some additional biscuit sneaking in. Brew finishes off with a smooth earthy hops presence and a pretty pronounced brown malt finale. Brew is overall pretty light with a mild alcohol presence and a bit lower carbonation that I would expect with a saison style. Overall a good brew but I completely missed the smoked part of the brew. The typical Stone emphasis on hops was in this brew but it really didn’t add or detract from the brews overall presence. The lack of carbonation really killed it for me as I was expecting the typical saison fizzy feel. Probably my least favorite of the Stone Collaborative brews to date.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a solid dark brown with faint garnet highlights when held to light, and a good sized tan head that slowly recedes before leaving a moderate amount of lace on the glass. The aroma holds a bit of smoke with a moderate amount of spice and a bit of chocolate caramel, and roast. The flavor is bready with a bit of spicy wheat, a hint of chocolate, smoke, and a heavy hand of earthy spicy hops. Medium to thin body with a moderate level of carbonation ans a spicy tart bubbly mouthfeel. This beer was ok, but not really my cup of tea.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a nice deep brown to black with a medium sized head. Some light estery yeast and musk on the nose. I don’t really get much smoke, just smells like a nice floral saison. Medium bodied, esters and a bit of grassiness. Really no smoke or roast coming through here. Sweet wheat comes through, a bit of muskiness. Drinking this blind I’d never think this was dark in color, none of that comes through at all. Tasty but not what I was hoping for.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
pours black, with little head. Sort of a smoky chocolate aroma, with a touch of Belgian/saison style funk. Flavor profile is similar to the aroma, all of the flavors are present, but none overwhelming. Enjoyable, and should be pretty interesting in about two years.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle poured a pitch black with a small mocha head and notable lacing. Aroma includes funky yeast, dark fruit, slight smoke, and sweet malt. Taste begins with dark fruit and roasted malt before yeast takes over. Smoke and dark fruit flavors linger on the palate.
