COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When two gypsies team up with an arrogant bastard, there is bound to be some criminal activity...better to view this project as a conspiracy rather than a collaboration. The strengths of all involved were utilized to break the laws of style guidelines...dark with deception, mysteriously smoked, unexplainably dry, and intriguingly hoppy...maybe it’s best not to even talk about it.

Very dark brown, verging on black in appearance with little to now head. Aroma is slightly smokey, with belgian yeast aroma typical to the style. Flavor is very smoky, with the belgian flavors coming through as well, also a slight bitterness, some oaky flavors at the end. Finishes dry and slightly astringent. Beer is rather thinm but full of flavor. Decent.

Bottle. Black with a tan head. Aromas of burnt sugar and a hint of smoke. Bitter burnt flavor up front with smoke and roasty malt finish.

Well done. The smoke is very subtle. Much lighter of a flavor than I expected upon seeing this dark almost black ale.

Dark pour, tan head. Aroma is a hint smokey with typical but much more subtle than usual bready yeasty saison. Distinctly Belgian in flavor with a hint of smoke and a Stone style finish. Pleasure to drink very hard to describe.

12 oz. bottle. Appearance: slight light brown head, deep copper to brown color, clear. Aroma: chocolate, cherry, light roasted malt,Palate: light body, lively carbonation, dry finish, light texture. Taste: medium sweetness, both of maltiness and of fruit, very light tartness, light-medium bitter finish. Overall, very unique, good balance too.

Upside surprise at a recent Stone Brewery tap take-over in Wellington. First dark beer my better half says she liked - and I thought it was to die for. Deliciously different.

Bottle - Slight soy, dar malts and some grass. Jet brown with a thin beige head. Smoke, peat, hop bitterness, and dark malt. I think this works.

Bottle; Pour is murky brown with a fine bubbled khaki head into this glass. Its a one/two finger head and it does retain fairly well here. The nose is bready, roast, fruit esters, with a smokiness present here. The flavor profile is robust roast initial moving to cocoa, modest dark fruits, some minerals, and a touch of chalk. It lacks belgian elements you would want out of the style, with the malt side dominating. It’s not bad per se, and it is a little different, but its not impressive by any means.

At 2014 Most Arrogant Bar Bash (Barleys in Greenvillle,SC) Pours black and opaque, with a very good head. Flavor: very floral, a bit ’wild’, with Belgian yeast and light and medium roast malts. Medium+ strength. A bit sweet up front; clightly funky and slightly bitter aftertaste. O: interesting and moderately complex but not my cup of tea.
