COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Usandsynlig tyktflydende, forførende mørk og smoking good.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, peated malt, humle, gær.
English Language Label: Amazingly rich, seductively dark and smoking good. Yes a real heartbreaker. We recommend only the truly skillful, heavyweight beer champions to battle this awfully addictive and overpowering smoked Stout. Be careful because this is the real deal with a minor Placebo effect. Makes invalids out of supermen.

On tap at Craft Beer Co on 17th September 2011. Impenetrably black with brown head that thins and lightens in colour. Rich earthy aroma, with caramel and smokiness. Delicious medium-bodied liquid with light to moderate sourness, fruit and cigar smoke; luscious finish of Christmas pudding, chocolate liqueurs and pipe smoke. Very enjoyable smoked porter.

On tap at the Craft Beer. Opaque black beer, short lived tan head. Light crispish palate (especially for a big beer). Minerals. Good rich dark malts which are free of bitterness and roast. A little dark chocolate. Nice sherbetty fruit salad things going on. Just a tiny bit of smoke. Minerally finish. Nice and not the smoke bomb I was expecting. Original rating 3.7.

Bottle. Opaque black beer, decent tan head. Softish palate, dry with some fine crispy carbonation livens this up. Tangy dark malt, notably and pleasantly fruity. Creamy malt. Well judged smoke. Minerals. Semi dry finish with more vibrant dried fruits. Delicious! I’ve not had a better smoked beer.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2011 Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Vin. Pours a deep Cola black with a matching frothy, creamy beige head. Crazy spotty lacing throughout the session. The nose is predominantly filled with rich smokey roasted almonds, fresh ground coffee beans, dark chocolate, and some really odd, but intruiging notes of lactose and cherries. Medium to fuller bodied with a sticky, somewhat thick palate that dazzles the tongue with just a tad of carbonation and a huge amount of heat from the smoke. The flavor leans heavily upon the smoke flavors, but they are quite nuanced, and some hints of the cherry, coffee, and chocolate show up, as well as a very modestly sour or tart finish from the creamy lactose. The alcohol is hidden in plain view, but you’d be damned to guess it was close to 9%. This is definitely a sipper, and meant to be shared on a cold night. If you do not like the Smoked style, this is a solid introduction. As for me, I’m just not a huge fan of smokeds, but this one is alright in my book. Well done.
