Danish: Usandsynlig tyktflydende, forførende mørk og smoking good.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, peated malt, humle, gær.
English Language Label: Amazingly rich, seductively dark and smoking good. Yes a real heartbreaker. We recommend only the truly skillful, heavyweight beer champions to battle this awfully addictive and overpowering smoked Stout. Be careful because this is the real deal with a minor Placebo effect. Makes invalids out of supermen.

I am not a fan of smoked beers. However, Ashtray Heart surprised me in a positive way. Was it because I just recovered from a long cold? Perhaps.

Bottle. The head is large and uniform, brown in color. The beer itself is black (but not opaque). Aroma is smokey (!!), reminds me of smoked ham, maybe bacon? I’m not sure, but I like bacon. Flavor is bitter, a bit malty and some smoke. Carbonation is pretty high; not exactly what I prefer. Finish is a smokey bitterness.

Overall, a surprisingly good smoked imperial stout, considering smoked beers are not my thing.

330ml bottle pours black on color with no head but leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is smoky with dark roasted malts and chocolate with hints of licorice. Taste is also smoky with a roasted grain bitterness and coffee with some chocolate malty sweetness. Light to medium body with mild carbonation. A nicely done Imperial stout that should be sampled.
