Color negro con espuma beige. Aromas ahumados, frutos Rojos y café. Cuerpo medio con inicio dulce y afrutado al que sigue el toque ahumado y el final amargo, seco y tostado. Muy rica.

Stinky. Watery. Black. Sticky flat palate. Sweet. A dark roast, but thin. Nope, sub-par rauch and a sub-par stout.

Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, light smoke, a little liquorice. Flavour is roasty, only slightly smoked, light sweetness. I would have liked more smoke, as it is this is quite moderately smoked, but thankfully there is a very tasty Porter behind that layer.

Bottle. Black with a light brown head. Smokey, peat, oak, malts, burnt toast and a light earthiness. Tastes like burnt toast made over a campfire, dry and smokey. Light syrup with a fizzy feel.

Poured a deep black with brown head with good retention, lacing decent but not perfect. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, and smoke. Flavor was vinous, licorice, chocolate, meaty smoke, molasses, dry ashtray smoke in the finish, a quite nice experience, on par with Bamberg but as a stout. Bamberg needs a RauchSchwarz to challenge this guy. Mouthfeel was smooth and fluffy big as in a dry stout but with some lingering stickiness on the lips. I’ve been out of regular ratings over the recent years, have been on a week long resurgence, and it is beers like this that provide a little spark to keep doing it. Great stuff for a brewer I indulged a handful of pricey stateside purchases at SL and with somewhat lower than published expectations - but so far so good. Rock on, evil twins!

Tap. Pitch black color. Tiny to almost no head. Malty, faint roast, faint iron in aroma. Metallic, sweet, milky, sourish taste. Cannot detect alcohol. Medium carbonation. Messy, very messy. Where is ash? Where is smokiness? Where is beer?

Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Aroma is caramel, malty, chocolate, a little smoke. Flavour is indeed ashy, with a reasonably sweet body of molasses and caramel malt, a chocolatey and smoky finish. As is often the case with smoked beers this builds nicely. Lovely beer.

Bottle from Bierkoning, thank you! Wow, where to start... Ashtray, burned cables, tar, lots of tar. Lots of roast as well. Vanilla flavoured coffee notes. Peat and leather. Rakija and cachaca. Multilayered, yet skillfully combined into a single bullet. Nothing seems out of place in here, everything is perfectly blended together. Thick, sweet, warming. Extreme. On the sip, it feels like an oily imperial stout at first, before becoming remarkably drier in the finish, dispersing into all those more unusual notes of burned cables, leather and tar. The atypical flavours do not dominate, they are the spicing of an already excellent imperial stout that is deep, rich and flavourful. Yes, it kinda feels like having had a sip of an imperial stout drenched in an old ashtray but hey, why does it taste so good then?
