COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Usandsynlig tyktflydende, forførende mørk og smoking good.
Ingredienser: vand, malt, peated malt, humle, gær.
English Language Label: Amazingly rich, seductively dark and smoking good. Yes a real heartbreaker. We recommend only the truly skillful, heavyweight beer champions to battle this awfully addictive and overpowering smoked Stout. Be careful because this is the real deal with a minor Placebo effect. Makes invalids out of supermen.

Brilliant pitch black color, brown, dense and lasting head, very nice aspect. Pours like petroleum, dense, oily, brilliant. Aromas to roasted malt, tobacco, chocolate cake, sweet espresso over a smoky base. Taste of black liquorice, leather, smoke, liquor and basically sweet, low hopped. Great texture and body. Wow, such a beer!

Shitter bottle from Frank Smith’s. Pours turbid deep brownish black with half a finger of brown head. Nose is rich roasty chocolate malt, mild rauchy smoked malt, some hops, port, and dark berry. Very complex and compelling aroma. Tastes rich, earthy, peaty, with an initial big tart blackberry and chocolate malt presence. Warms up to give emerging hops, more chocolatey malt notes, but the blackberry tartness and figgy notes remain, giving this one the sensation of a dry port/merlot with some slight smoky malt elements within. Gets even fruitier as it warms, and stays complex, unique, and absolutely delicious from beginning to end.

Pours an opaque very dark brown with a nice small brown head with good legs. Aroma is peaty smoked malts, roasted malts, and sweet maltiness underneath the dominant but not overpowering peaty smoke. Flavour is peaty, smoke, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, licorice, bitter/sweet/peaty smoke pretty much sums it up. Absolutely delicious but I’m a sucker for smoked beers!

Pours an opaque black with a nice frothy brown head and some nice lacing. Aroma of peaty malts, roasted malt, chocolate but overall the peat dominates in a pleasant way. Taste is peaty smoke malts, chocolate, cocoa and licorice. Awesome blend of all flavors from smoke to sweetness, wicked beer overall.

Bottle from Bierkoning, thank you! Wow, where to start... Ashtray, burned cables, tar, lots of tar. Lots of roast as well. Vanilla flavoured coffee notes. Peat and leather. Rakija and cachaca. Multilayered, yet skillfully combined into a single bullet. Nothing seems out of place in here, everything is perfectly blended together. Thick, sweet, warming. Extreme. On the sip, it feels like an oily imperial stout at first, before becoming remarkably drier in the finish, dispersing into all those more unusual notes of burned cables, leather and tar. The atypical flavours do not dominate, they are the spicing of an already excellent imperial stout that is deep, rich and flavourful. Yes, it kinda feels like having had a sip of an imperial stout drenched in an old ashtray but hey, why does it taste so good then?

On tap at Craft Beer Co on 17th September 2011. Impenetrably black with brown head that thins and lightens in colour. Rich earthy aroma, with caramel and smokiness. Delicious medium-bodied liquid with light to moderate sourness, fruit and cigar smoke; luscious finish of Christmas pudding, chocolate liqueurs and pipe smoke. Very enjoyable smoked porter.
