3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an opaque deep, dark brown--just shy of black. Tremendously huge head (despite my best efforts to control it during the pour) that is dark tan in color and pillowy, yet dense in texture. As head settles somewhat, a good bit of lacing remains. Aroma is of peat and licorice, with some piney, resinous character in the background. Smoky, but not in a salty, rauchbier way. As pronounced as the aroma was, I was completely unprepared the for wallop of flavor. Strong doesn’t even begin to describe how it hit me--flavor of sour cherries mixed with smoked wood. Some roasted malts are evident, as is hop bitterness, but there is really a sour-sweet flavor taste driving the beer. It’s rather unexpected to be honest. Although the alcohol is not--very forward. Palate is also unexpected, as the beer is surprisingly watery. In sum: A flavorful smoked stout, but one that may not be to everyone’s liking. Worth a try, however, if you’re a fan of beers like Bell’s Cherry Stout.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml bottle. Pitch black with one finger white head. Sweet and slightly boozy aroma with sweet black bread, smoke, cigar butt, light tar, light peat and hints of smoked ham. Taste is malty with smoke, sweet black bread, chocolate and some smoked ham as well as a light bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium yet surprisingly light, the carbonation is medium as well and there is some warming alcohol.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
355ml brown bottle poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is brownish black with a medium sized thick foamy brown head, that reduced slowly leaving lacing behind on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, peat and charcuteries. Flavours of roasted malts, caramel, charcuteries, dark chocolate, coffee and dark muscovado. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied, creamy texture and average carbonation. Evil Twin Ashtray Heart is delicious, peat smokiness is there but not dominating.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smelly like a Smokey puddle with a hunk of chard wood floating in it. Dark black with thin white head. Like drinking a campfire that cooked a ham over it. Amazing.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Straight from the fireplace! Everything of a perfect porter: black appearance, nearly no head; strong aroma of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate. Taste is very complex: full coffee and chocolate as from nose, roasted malts and a heavy (in the positive way) smoky feeling. Creamy and sticky on lips, a long lasting malty bitterness in the mouth. Booze hidden. Bomb!

Dark coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and black malt in the aroma. The flavor is coffee beans, dark chocolate and black malt. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Really good and powerful beer. Takes a while to drink. Enjoyable. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Nose is a bit too close to actual ashtray but otherwise excellent. Savory and lightly sweet.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark body, brown head, not much retention, but looks nice. Roasted malt and a touch of smoke in the aroma. Taste is roasted malt, a faint hint of smoke, kind of watery. Mellow palate. Kind of disappointed with this one. I’m guessing there was something off with this bottle/batch as it’s not the "overpowering" experience of the description or in the comments of other raters.
