COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First came a toasted smug called Yin followed by a hoppy fella called Yang. Let me introduce you to Auld Yin – a wrinkly more experienced take on youngster Yin. 9 months in the company of an insightful, complex whiskey cask made a pretty interesting spin on this imperial tajii taste adventure. Aye!

Dark opaque brown color, small beige head. Intensive aroma of whiskey, roasted malts and vanilla. Full bodied. Quite sweet. Lots of vanilla, toasted flavors, chocolate and milky lactose, bourbon too. Warming finish. Lingering burned and milky aftertaste. Pleasant.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, big coconut, vanilla, oak, and whiskey in there, hints of coffee, green espresso bean, hints of spice, slight smoke. Taste is a mix of dark chocolate, roast, hints of coffee, nice big oak, vanilla, slight coconut, into a smoky middle, slight peaty note with herbal notes, finishing fairly bitter, very creamy, bitter. Wow, very well done.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Pours a deep brown black appearance with a thin dark brown head. Whiskey, a bit smoky, almost peaty, vanilla, dark chocolate, nice aroma. Kind of smoked herbal, dark chocolate, caramel, burnt, light anise flavor. Pretty fucken cool beer.

Deep brown-black body, medium to thin sized khaki, spotty lacing. Significant roast and coffee, some oaky and peaty whiskey, touches of chocolate, some light tobacco. Medium to full bodied, silky carbonation, lingering finish, well-masked alcohol.

The beer is near black with a thin beige cap. Upon first whiff, I can already tell this will be another great stout from Evil Twin. Distinctly European in style. Vanilla, chocolate, roast. light warming alcohol. Really easy to drink. Such a graceful 12% abv. Full bodied with moderately low carbonation. Fantastic.

Shared from small 12oz bottle. Poured a motor-oil black color with a small off-white head. Aroma was some seriously roasted malts, coffee touch there. Flavor was really sweet sugary dried fruits, some oak and vanilla there. Bitter chocolate. Way too much booze noticeable for it to be enjoyable for me.

Bottle. It pours a dark brown to black body and a minimal sized light tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, molasses, alcohol, booze and a touch of chocolate and dark dried fruits. Quite complex flavor with the booze playing a leading role. Lots of molasses, coffee and chocolate blending in. Warming and full-bodied, with very soft carbonation. Lasting finish with lots of flavor. A damn pleasant and tasteful beer, well suited for sharing with a good friend. 130504
